Staff is very friendly and welcoming. It is a 5 minute walk from Rome’s Termini train station and the Metro. Breakfast is included in the rate. Great for a few nights, walkable to Trevi Fountain and shopping/restaurants.

Probably the best customer service we've ever had at a hotel. From the front desk staff ( in particular the short brunette) to the kitchen staff ( all work so hard ) To the manager who came and greated us at breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. With love from Vancouver, Canada

Although the bedding was clean the room and bathroom was very run down. The room is overpriced and disappointing.Hotel reception were nice. The area around the train station is horrible, dirty and doesn't feel safe, with beggars and hawkers

Our favorite near Termini
Hotel Varese is just a 3 block walk from Termini, the huge train station in Rome. Safe to walk with lugagge all day and early evening. Lots of restaurants withing the block

Convenience is all this place has going for it
The proximity to Termini station is the best thing about this place. The included breakfast was also pretty good. Most of the staff was warm & welcoming and helpful. However, it's not the prettiest hotel, and I found the room to be dark and dingy. The bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Location near the train station is convenient. Front desk staff very pleasant and knowledgeable. HOWEVER, the cleanliness and condition of this property is very poor. You have to walk through a labyrinth to get to the room which smelled terribly musty and mold was growing everywhere. The walls, shower, and bathroom were all covered in mold and there were very poor attempts to cover this with paint. There was a sign asking us to reuse our towels to conserve water that was so moldy it barely clung to the wall. The garbage can in the bathroom hadn't been emptied when we checked in (empty cans of olives were left inside) and there was hair on the walls in the shower. The mirror had handwritten messages on it that only appeared after a hot shower which means the mirror hadn't been cleaned either. When I got in bed, I felt something hard under my leg and found a chewed off FINGERNAIL under the covers. I would not recommend this hotel unless you're absolutely desperate.

Excellent location and easy to get to. Only 5 minute walk to Termini, bus transportation, metro and taxi readily available. Breakfast includeed was an excellent choice, menu was basic but good. Mini bar included in my room but i would prefer a mini fridge and microwave and perhaps a coffee maker. Hiwever everything else was perfect

Denise was exceptional with her bubbly personality and knowledge! The room was large however if it had a comfortable chair as well would have been appreciated. Being able to control the temperature as well as better quality pillows would also have been appreciated.

We stayed for four days in this property and it was an absolute value for money! I can’t say enough good things about the hotel. From the welcoming friendly staff, convenient location close to transportation, dining options, shopping, etc. to the amazing breakfast served fresh on your table with unlimited servings based on the extensive menu selections, to the outstanding dining and shopping options, to the immaculately clean and spacious modern rooms. Good location that was close to Roma Termini and there were great restaurants close by. Staff was very responsive and friendly. Breakfasts were delicious. The toilet in our room had to be juggled after every use so the water would stop running. And at times the noise from the hallway was noticeable (the room was close to the cozy bar area and the breakfast room).

We selected a superior room which seemed to only indicate size. We were given a ground floor room from which you could hear everything from reception and room was not that clean. Ear plugs were provided which is a first for us. We had told the hotel we were on our honeymoon and received a kind note from the manager along with a bottle of wine and some tasty chocolates, which was very sweet.

No air conditioner, dirty floors, I had to change rooms because the first room had no ventilation and the hotel turned off the A/C. In the other room we had to sleep with the window open, with all the street noice. The Expedia description said this hotel had A/C. Very disappointed!
