We booked this hotel through Expedia for a trip with three families and requested in advance to have adjoining rooms. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the front desk had no record of that request. They were able to rearrange the rooms on the spot, which we appreciated, but the issues didn’t stop there.
Out of the three rooms, one didn’t have a hair dryer at all, and another had a broken one. When we informed the front desk, they told us we could go into another room and use the hair dryer there — not exactly the most convenient fix. Also, one of the TVs had a cracked screen and didn’t work, and the bathroom paint was noticeably peeling.
As for the free breakfast — technically, yes, there is something, but calling it a “breakfast” is a stretch. A few kinds of yogurt, two kinds of juice, and coffee were all that was offered. If you want something filling in the morning, I highly recommend bringing your own food.
On the bright side: the hotel is very close to Kings Dominion, check-out is at 11am, there’s a nice outdoor area with a playground and space to walk, and — perhaps most importantly — there were no bedbugs. After everything else, that actually felt like a small victory.
If you just need a place to sleep and don’t care too much about cleanliness or broken amenities, this place might be okay. Just keep your expectations low and your snacks ready.
