Only problem I had with hotel there was no real full time front desk. Only way to enter was with a code they sent via email. As in my case we got it while still in transit and did not write it down and then the email disappeared when I went to pull it up and could not enter lobby until someone exited the front door. Then we had to wait for hotel employee to complete check in

Hotel was great. It was clean, cute, and sort of nestled in a residential area. Parking is on the street, but there was enough in the area. The breakfast was ample, free, and had a great variety. Just had an issue with unclear cancellation policy. Was told it was feasible before 7 days of arrival, but then later was told no changes were possible. That was very frustrating.

Our stay was great! We had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious everyday. Sometimes it was hard to find a parking spot in front of the building, but we could always find a spot on the street if needed. Thank you!

Perfect for a city break!
Second time here and love this place. No, it’s not 5 star luxury, but for a backpacking or city weekend break when you are on the go all day, it is perfect! Always spotless, beds are really comfy and the separate duvets are a genius idea! The shower is fantastic! Breakfast is just amazing and the 24/7 coffee machine is a blessing! Perfectly placed for city or countryside.

I loved this property, it was one of my favorites for our trip. I see many reviews noted the room as small, but compared to many other stays I actually felt the room here was quite comfortable. The check in/out process was wonderfully smooth, using a code to enter the facility as well as our room. Breakfast was basic but fresh and hot tea and coffee was available downstairs at any time. I would absolutely stay here again.

The rooms were too small. The room shade to darken the room didn't work. Not enough space for suitcases. It was frustrating that someone wasn't always at the front desk.

Not what I expected and a bit difficult to fond (no big sign!). But, a fantastic room on the ground floor, and an amazing shower room. Tea/coffee 24h and so clean all the time! Breakfast was a continental-style meat, cheese egg buffet with salmon and caviar. Only 15 mins ealk from town and really quiet. The hotel was absolutely perfect for what I needed!

Clean but small room with no closet, just a very high rack above a small cabinet where you can put your cloths. The room had a mini fridge but no microwave available. Room was cleaned daily but floors not alway swept. Front desk minimal but contact number for any needs. Nice Icelandic style cold breakfast (smoked salmon, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, breads, yogurt, cereal). Parking free on property but not an actual lot, just open spaces and street parking adjacent. We managed to park everyday. Hotel and room access with key codes - no keys- which I liked. Nearby (2 blocks) cafe, convenient. store, and sausage/ice cream fast food. Convenient fir driving out of town but a little far to walk to downtown. Would stay again if I had a car or arranged transport.

We had very good experience staying in the hotel. The staff is very friendly, the property is sparkling clean, quiet. It’s not a big hotel, but this is what I was looking for. Good location, close to the park and swimming pool.No problem with parking. We had continental breakfast. Coffee and tea access 24/7. I de definitely recommend staying in this hotel. You will be not disappointed.

I like the style of this place and the fact they provided delicious breakfast and coffee in the morning. I enjoyed the towel warmer and the room was very clean upon arrival, it was a bit smaller then I was expecting but I enjoyed my stay.

Nordurey City Gardens Hotel Iceland must visit
Great place to stay everything you need without the frills. Handy for walking into Reykjavik. Restaurants within walking distance or bus stops close to hotel to allow you to check out more places. Staff really friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Great selection of food for breakfast. Really quiet despite being close to the road.

Everything in this hotel is new and very modern. Parking was very easy. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good. If I have to write something that I didn’t like would be that they didn’t have a hand soap or telephone in the room.

Great place to stay right off the city center
Located in an off-the-city-center neighborhood, we had a comfortable bedroom on the bottom floor, small room but we had what we needed. The shower is opened, so it was a bit of a water mess around, heated floors sort of helped cleared it out. Toiletries and a hair dryer are available.The breakfast buffet was OK but limited, enough to get something to eat before taking off. Check-in and check-out was pretty straightforward and didn't require human interaction as the doors are code accessed. Being on the bottom floor makes it so that you are in an area common to the laundry machines and next to the breakfast room, not private at all (we could hear noises real early in the morning), I advise to request rooms in any other floor. The place has an elevator. The parking area is right outside the building, not really well signaled, holds around 4-5 cars, parking on the streets is also free. The area has about 2-3 places to eat (local restaurant and coffee shops) that are quite good and at walking distance. It is also close to many main streets where you can catch buses or call a cab, but if you have a car, is quite handy as parking is free. If you do not have a car and are in tourist mode, it is way more convenient to stay closer to the city center, although the car rides from here are not longer than 6-8 minutes into the city center. Great place to stay.
