"We checked in and discovered our room didn’t have a bath, we were swapped to a room with one immediately, not a problem to the staff. The room was clean, spacious and the bathroom was also spotless. Bath and shower were separate, water pressure was fab and hot water always available no matter what time of day you were using it. Mini fridge, kettle, coffee machine with pods, hair dryer, iron and ironing board all provided.
Breakfast selection was plentiful and hot food was replenished regularly. Many options to choose from for cereal, continental, hot food and pastries. There was even fresh honey on the comb, what a treat! We had breakfast 3 mornings and never had the same thing twice.
We ate in both Frederick’s and Aaron lounge, amazing food available from both. The cocktails were also very good, great taste and not too heavy with the alcohol, you could taste all the elements of each.
Lastly, the staff were all very attentive, friendly and made you feel at home. Would highly recommend a stay here either as a couple or family."
"The Glendalough Hotel was the perfect location for visiting the Glendalough ruins, park and waterfalls. Staff were excellent. The hotel is a bit dated. Two of my traveling companions had leaks and mold issues in their rooms but once it was brought to the staff’s attention, they were immediately moved. Breakfast and dinner were good quality. I would recommend this hotel if you’re visiting the area."
"We had an unbelievable time our room was gorgeous, spacious and very clean.I had told the lady Rosie on reception that it was my husband's birthday so they left him a plate of gorgeous sweet treats and a lovely card that was so nice of them to do.We don't play golf but the grounds are beautiful and if you walk down the hill it backs onto the blessington lake breakfast was soooo tasty and a lovely choice of pastries. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back soon."

"Staff are very friendly.
Great breakfast.
Hotel is a little dated but warm, cosy and comfortable.
Pool was lovely, very nicely lit in the evening. Only downside is gym doesn't open during the week until 10.30am."
"Really had a very comfortable stay. Room was comfy and a good size. The staff were incredibly helpful and the hotel passed my 'plumbing test'. The shower was fantastic."
"A very comfortable and well equipped room, great breakfast, helpful staff. Plenty of activities, if wanted and convenient location South of Dublin. I’ll stay again when visiting Ireland."
"A lovely family breakaway at Kilkea Castle Lodges
We had a lovely stay at Kilkea Castle Lodges for our first little breakaway as a family of three with our 3-month-old daughter. The lodge was a great size, and we really enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the clubhouse, the beautiful grounds and the spa facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We really appreciated having a cot and water provided on request.
We did have a small issue one rainy evening when the safety latch on the door to Lodge 352 locked us out, but the staff responded immediately and were very helpful in resolving it.
There are a few minor areas for improvement. The steps at the entrance to the lodge mean it isn’t easily accessible for prams or wheelchair users, which is worth considering for families with young babies and guests with mobility needs. The door to Lodge 352 was also difficult to close and required a loud bang, which wasn’t ideal when trying not to wake a sleeping baby. We noticed draughts coming in through the windows and patio door, particularly on a very windy night. Providing kitchen roll or a tea towel in the kitchen would also be a useful addition for drying cups and dishes.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and loved the setting, the lodge and the warm hospitality. With a few small improvements, it would be even better. We would happily return and look forward to visiting again!"
"The staff and the food are the big selling points for this hotel. Staff have always been very helpful and the food is always good. It is a convenient hotel with free parking and EV chargers on site. The rooms are quite dated and old, definitely in need of an upgrade."
