"While the accommodation was clean and comfortable it is definitely not suitable for elderly people, whilst the stairs up to the accommodation are steep, but not too bad, the steps to the external door has no handrail which probably does not conform to regulations, however the apartment itself is on a couple of levels with no handrails or warnings in place at all plus when at the top of the stairs there is another step up/down from the landing which once again has no handrail or warning at all and is particularly dangerous when stepping down to the landing and indeed I had a nasty fall down the step. I would strongly suggest that the owners of this accommodation have it checked to ensure it conforms to current regulations or otherwise they face the risk of litigation if somebody has a fall and is seriously hurt sometime in the future,"

"The hotel is situated in a good location, close to shops, easy access, has three good restaurants. Ambiance at the restaurants is beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Stayed there 3 nights for a birthday staycation. However, one of the ice buckets i requestes to chill my expressed breast milk has a very yucky rusty cover. Staff apologized for this, and later that day I saw reception staff carefully scrutinizing ice buckets at the front desk. Some coffee cups were dusty and the shower curtain edges had a few moldy spots in it, they asked me for my feedback and i did tell IHG about this so they moved us to a better room with a double ensuite. After a few days, I was surprised to see that my credit card was charged twice for our whole stay. I have paid for the nights weeks in advance and staff have acknowledged this, but charged us again. After I alerted staff, It took a few hours to get a response via email. They were apologetic but to my dismay refunded the wrong amount, less than what we paid for - Another mistake! If i didnt check twice I would have lost money twice! Quite unbelievable! I have lost trust in leaving my CC details at 5 star hotels. And 4 days counting I still havent gotten a refund of my double charge. The attention to detail in payments and refunds is lacking, unfortunately"

"One of the cheaper places to stay in town - pretty good value for money I guess. Ideal location. Right in the heart of town. Has all the ingredients to be terrific. Best thing was the comfy bed, clean linen."

"Great stay! So close to everything. The tennis court was grea as well as the fire pit with wood and marshmallows supplied! No noise issues for us at after dark. Had everything we needed. Stayed a week in April and will say again!"

"Stayed at Point Lonsdale Apartments recently — great location, but overall disappointing. Advertised as 4-star, but felt closer to 3-star. Rooms are older and could use a more thorough clean (noticeable dust). The “premium bedding” didn’t live up to the claim either — very firm beds and wafer-thin pillows made for an uncomfortable stay, and we ended up checking out early. Biggest issue was the lack of transparency around access — there was no mention of four flights of stairs to reach the apartment. This was particularly concerning as my mother had a near miss with a fall. We asked about cancelling the remaining nights due to this, but were told it would only be considered if the room was rebooked, regardless of the fact the listing did not mention so many stairs. Balcony overlooked the cemetery, which may or may not be your thing. Point Lonsdale is a great spot, but we wouldn’t stay at Point Lonsdale Apartments again."
