A pleasant stay!!

A great place to stay. Nice little kitchenette and comfortable front porch! A nice pool with a great covered space to hang out at! Close to town and beaches.

Lovely place, friendly and helpful staff. Would most definitely stay here again. Rooms were immaculate, the kitchen/dinette area is well stocked with utensils, dishes, and appliances, and the outdoor living room area is comfortable.

Relaxing at end of tour

Really nice welcoming stay. Well equipped rooms for self catering. Fortunately we had a car as it is quite a walk to restaurants and town down a dark lane. Very relaxing stay.

A Beautiful Facility!

Everything was wonderful at La Tica y La Gato! The facility is beautiful and the staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. Cleaning service was excellent.

Lovely place, beautiful pool, recommended

Overall a lovely place to stay. The accommodation was lovely, clean and comfortable. The pool was perfect to relax by. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful also with recommendations of where to eat it town. The only slight negatives are there was no safe in the room and the long (about 1km) dirt road to get there, but even with a tiny 2wd car going very slow it was fine. It’s about a 20 minute walk into the main town. Overall I would definitely stay here again though

What a nice surprise, after a bad stay the night before. I got much needed rest and sleep as it was quiet and comfortable. Clean, with a pool and kitchen. Pleasant owner and staff too. I would return.

It's a cute, clean, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay at. It has a nice pool. Our unit had a well equipped kitchen. The only negative I felt was a relatively long bumpy dirt road that takes you to the property.

This is such a wonderful "gem" of a property. I loved staying here. Every detail of the design is simple, elegant and comfortable. The room was sparkling clean with a well organized and appointed little kitchenette. I could hear the birds and howler monkeys in the jungle behind with easy access to the beach, restaurants and facilities of Puerto Viejo. Thank you to all the great staff. Wonderful.

This was our first time in Puerto Viejo, and we picked this place because the ratings were so awesome. And it's no surprise why! The hotel is super chill and eco-friendly, but still has all the stuff you need for a really comfortable stay. The staff, and even the owner, are just incredibly friendly and welcoming—none of that stuffy, fake-smile vibe you get at other places. The hotel is totally off the beaten path, which we loved. It's close enough to all the restaurants and shops (like our new favorite, Cafe Rico), but far enough away that it was quiet at night. We really appreciated being less than a mile from the noisy part of town so we could just relax. The saltwater pool and the board games in the reception area were a major plus, too. We've officially found our go-to spot in Puerto Viejo. Can't wait to come back and see you all again soon!

Late November 3 night stay

We had a great stay at La Tica y La Gata! We booked a single room which had a queen size bed and Stella kindly put an extra single bed in the room as we were 2 friends travelling together. The room was really clean and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The veranda was great for sitting out and felt really private with the palms in front, there was even a hummingbird who came to feed on the flowers. The accommodation is down a long track which is fine for walking in the daytime but can be a little intimidating when it's dark as it's not very well lit in parts so we missed the entrance to the accommodation a couple of times. It's easy to catch a tuktuk from the town though and we're glad we caught one from the bus stop initially - we'd recommend doing this if travelling via public bus. The beds were made and the room cleaned and fresh towels provided every day. The pool area was lovely and the staff were really friendly. The Interbus picked us up directly outside and we were really sad to leave, we would definitely stay longer next time!

I found a great spot to hang out in Puerto Viejo, and it's super close to all the action. The staff there was fantastic, always friendly and helpful, making the stay even better. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, which is always a huge plus in my book. Plus, the pool was the perfect place to chill out and unwind after a day of exploring.

Down a long and winding road to an oasis!

Down a long winding road on the outskirts of town, you escape to a quiet oasis. The double and single duplex units are perfect for self catering holidays. It is better if you have your own transport, otherwise take a Tuktuk or taxi. The pool and lounge area is a tree lined relaxation spot. The kitchens are either outdoors on the patio or indoors in the spacious units. Bring your own shampoo but bar soap and dish soap are provided. Well equipped with cookware, an air fryer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and hot plate. Lovely owner and staff. Hot showers but need kettle to boil water for dishes.
