Dated hotel used mostly by travel groups. Very limited English speaking staff which is really not acceptable considering they are a four star hotel and charge those prices. Rooms are old but cmfortable

Great, comfortable experience and polite staff

The service was really good. All staff were polite, and the hotel was kind enough to allow a last minute extension of our booking as well as a late checkin. A simple, clean business hotel with nice Christmas decorations and a diverse breakfast spread. I'd definitely recommend to travellers to Pondicherry

I love the front office and bellboys ('bell men') hahaha. They were very professional. The pondicherry seafood soup was just out of this world and its my greatest memory.

Good hotel with parking facility and great food.

Good hotel at a great location. We opted for the duplex room to accommodate the kids comfortably and they really enjoyed the separate upstairs bed 😊. I drove down to pondicherry and was very particular that the hotel needs to have proper parking space for my SUV. As you know, many of those boutique hotels in pondy has issues with parking and most of the time you have to do a street side parking which is very much a hassle. Shenbaga has proper parking and valet. The restaurant needs special mention, the Pondicherry special Prawns and fish dishes were really tasty. The buffet breakfast was also a good spread, catering to Indian and foreign guests. Overall I am happy with the hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was spacious and clean, but in need of updating. We experienced a lot of noise - both from our neighbours’ children (the interconnnecting door seemed to have little sound proofing) and the hallway (decor is predominantly tiled/hard surfaces and seemed to be an echo chamber). The bed was very hard. Good hot water but bathroom dated and the workmanship appeared amateur. Wifi was good. The rooftop pool area was spacious with plenty of loungers. Breakfast (included) was predominantly Indian, with an egg station - quality and choice average. Location was ok, a 10 minute walk from the northern end of the beach. In hindsight I wish we stayed in one of the quaint villas in the heart of the French Quarter.

Nice Hotel

The food, ambience and room were quite good. More importantly my kids liked the room and the overall atmosphere. The hotel staffs were very courteous and friendly too. My only worry to stay at a hotel in Pondicherry was the terrible sight of drunken men walking around and it might create an inauspicious scene to our stay. But, that didn't happen. I think the hotel staffs ensured that there is a neat space for people to co-exist. All in all a very satisfying stay for our family.

Value for money stay for family.

The duplex type room is ideal for a family of 4. The breakfast buffet was not overboard, but quite good.

I had no issues with this hotel. It is one kilometer away from the beach and the tourist attractions.

Clean and rustuc hotel.

Nice hotel in a quiet location. It is rustic and not so expensive. They just charge too much for water (4 times the market price), which is not appropriate in my view.

Good but not up to the standards

The location of the hotel, facilities available and food in the tulip restaurant inside the hotel are good. Actually the breakfast buffet was very tasty except for a roach that crawled on our table. However, I appreciate the restaurant manager who was courteous and professional.The hotel has a lot of scope to improve in the concierge and front desk services. Staff are not proactive, well trained and welcoming. Overall, it was not great for the price we paid.

Convenient, Clean, Tasty

After checkin we discovered that the phone, safe and wifi were all inoperable. Within an hour all those problems had been rectified. There was a good breakfast offered and the evening meals that we had in the hotel restaurant were reasonably priced and very tasty. The bed was exceptionally firm to the point of painful. Every day when we returned to our room we would have to check for towels, soap and toilet paper, and inevitably we would call to get some items delivered. The service was always fast. The fridge and iron/ironing board were also very useful. The staff were accommodating and also assisted in making onward travel plans. Also Pondicherry was small enough that we could walk everywhere.

Hotel is pretty good.

Very good, clean room. Swimming pool is very good. Accessibility to city,shopping etc is pretty good. Only draw back or missing one is no playing areas for kids.

Paradise in Pondicherry

Don't take a room with a shared door!

I had a room which had a shared but locked door with the neighbouring room. I could hear everything that was happening next door. The person in the room would watch TV late into the night at high volume and we just couldn't sleep. When we complained to reception, they didn't even bother asking the guest to turn down the volume - kept saying we will send someone to check the floor. Finally when I forced them to call the guest, he shouted at them saying he won't and he turned up the volume even more. The hotel seemed to be aware that guests complain about noise in rooms with shared doors but still put guests in these rooms without warning them and doesn't have staff who can handle a belligerent guest (my callous neighbour).

Awesome Staying Experience

One of the best hotel experiences I have had until now. The breakfast was sumptuous and the staff were very courteous. The hotel is close to the beach and provides all facilities and comfort for its customers.

Visit to Pondicheery

Not a class hotel. They do not know how to manage professionally.l Vasanth Food Nd beverage Manager was quite helpful. Appreciate his efforts in greeting me the medicines that I needed. Whole visit was wash out due to heavy rains.

Very smart hotel in Pondicherry, easy to get to all the sites we wanted to see, good food at resturant, Only been open 10 months and the staff are still in process of that final polish, which will come soon, as they are all keen and friendly. Next time I visit Pondicherry I will try to book here again.

3 nights in Pondicherry

As a relatively new hotel in Puducherry, this hotel is nice enough. I guess the relatively lower price is due to its location Although rated 4-star, service isn't top notch and could be improved. The out door swimming pool on the 8th floor in good enough Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are cool
