"The room was decent and the bed comfortable. The issue we had was the bar had closed at 10.25pm and the bar staff wouldn’t serve us despite us having been told that it would be open until 11pm. We weren’t even allowed to add drinks to our bill and have them in our room because the barman said he’s closed all the tills. He said we could go to the local garage if we wanted to buy alcohol - not exactly what you expect when staying in a hotel."

"Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. Rooms are very good with a ceiling fan and additional tower fan in the room which was helpful during the recent spell of hot weather. Breakfast was good. "We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail.
The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty.
Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms."

"The young man who checked us in was most helpful as was the young lady on our departure for check-out. The room was clean tidy with all the facilities needed for a short stay. The location is ideal with a lovely view of the marina at Portishead, plenty of 'watering holes' and shops close by. We used this hotel as a stop over on the way to Porthtowan, Cornwall and intend to on our return."

"A big shout out to the staff which work here, very often you will stay somewhere and you’ll encounter 1 or 2 excellent staff with the rest just doing their job. This was not our experience at the Priory, every single member of staff acknowledged us with a friendly smile and an attentive attitude. We were a group of 4 and we all remarked how refreshing it was that we were welcomed and made to feel at home at the Priory. Keep up the good work and thank you."
