We were just in Portland for the night before heading to the costs. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The beds were amazingly comfortable! Being across the street to a food truck park and public transit was a plus. For the price it can't be beat

Excellent, comfortable, clean room. Easy parking. Friendly, helpful staff. We spend time in Portland every Summer, and for the last three years the Viking has been our Portland home. We hope to stay there again next Summer. We stayed there five nights this Summer.

This place was wonderful it’s our new favorite spot to stay in Portland. We only booked one night and ended up staying for 2. Right across the way from food trucks and close to a Fred Meyer you just can’t beat it. Friendly staff we stayed another night and they moved some things around for us so we could stay in the same room which was great! Love this place. Clean rooms basic but had a fridge microwave and ice cold AC. 🙂👌Will definatly be back.

First - this is a motel, not a hotel. There aren’t lots of amenities. However, if what you want is a clean, quiet, well-located property with comfortable beds and helpful staff, then this is the place for you. It was perfect for me. Many good restaurants nearby and a very good, though small, food truck pod right across the street. My only quibble is that the Wi-Fi is pretty weak. I was able to work around that. Hopefully, it will be better when I return … and I will.

Our stay was great overall. The motel was easy to get to and in good shape. It was a perfect place to grab a few hours of sleep before heading back out. If you are looking for a clean, basic motel we can't recommend it enough.

This was our second stay at Viking Motel, and it won't be our last. It's not a posh place, but it's very clean and comfortable. We feel relaxed and safe there. There is a little road noise, so if you are very sensitive, you may want to bring earplugs, but it's not loud and didn't bother us at all. We've had no problem parking there, but we have arrived early each time. I don't know if there would be any problem for late arrivals. The location has been very convenient. There's a good food truck court in easy walking distance and an excellent supermarket just a couple of blocks away. There is a microwave and small fridge in the room, so leftovers or items from the store are easily heated up. There is a light rail station just a few yards down from the motel, making mass transit easy and eliminating the cost and hassle of parking downtown. There's also a bus stop 0.7 miles away. If you are in Portland for medical treatment from Kaiser, there is a Kaiser facility two or three stops away on light rail. Viking Motel gives us great bang for the buck. The only things I would change are to be given two key cards instead of one at check-in and to have more electrical outlets (it IS an older building, albeit refurbished). Note: Breakfast is not served, but it's easy to pick up a hot breakfast at the food trucks or extremely delicious pastries from the supermarket. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, safe place to stay in Portland, you can't beat the Viking Motel!
