"Quick check-in as we arrived after 8 pm. Kiara went above and beyond for me when I asked for ice (which is a luxury in Italy). The room was a nice size and very clean. Breakfast was awesome and included an omelette station. Overall, it has been the nicest hotel we have stayed at over the last week in Italy. Highly recommend."

"This property, with a beautiful view in all directions, was exactly what I was looking for. Check in was easy, the room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and charmingly spartan. It was very basic, and I found that perfectly appropriate considering we were so very close to the basilica of St. Francis. "We stayed 2 weeks in Italy and stayed in 5 different properties and this was our favorite. It’s not fancy by any means but safe, quiet, clean and comfortable and the location and experience of staying in a former monastery can’t be beat. Staff was super friendly and breakfast was very good and included. There is limited parking so make sure to reserve that (we traveled with my 80 year old mother so it was essential for us given the hills in Assisi). "

"The location was pretty good and the staff was very friendly. My only critiques would be that there was no a/c. A fan would have really helped. I opened my windows a little but there was a pigeon who sat outside my bathroom window at night so I couldn't open it very wide. Also, they should probably spend a little money and update the sheets and comforter which were not soft at all. But given the price, location, and staff, I would consider staying here again. "

"Wonderful place to stay. You do have to drop your luggage off —they will send you an e-mail about this —and then park down the mountain in a parking lot. The couple that manage the hotel are fabulous. The hotel is very clean, the breakfast exceptional, and the service was definitely a 10. You definately will want to stay at least 2 nights. They also have a terrace upstairs to watch the sun set. "

"Beautiful hotel! Beautiful people working there. The room and location was amazing. Only complaint the pillows were very hard, all of them!! AC wasn’t quite as cold as we are used to but very nice and comfortable. Area was super close to the Basilica of Saint Francis with an amazing view. Would definitely stay again. "

"The hotel was absolutely wonderful. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re an American who, like me, knew little about Spello, Italy before booking. Trust me—you won’t regret staying here. While we didn’t dine at the on-site restaurant, it offers incredible views. "Ideal location, halfway between Basilica San Franceso and Chiesa Santa Chiara. Everything in Assisi was within short walking distance. Crucially, the hotel had 10 parking spots directly in front, which allows entrance into the ZTL (otherwise forbidden). Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Booked the "family room," which was huge and had a great view. Great value."
