There was no toilet seat o the toilet which I was informed was because that was the room that I booked through Expedia (she may not have understood what I was trying to tell her). She gave me another room which her colleague tried to enter at 11pm twice (second time with a key) while I was sleeping. In the morning she told me it was because her afternoon colleague had given me the wrong room.

Hostal céntrico, silencioso, flanqueado por 2 calles peatonales, muy limpio y confortable. El personal del hostal muy amable y sociable. Si vuelvo por la zona, repetiré.

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, en la zona antigua de Ponferrada. Tienes todo a mano. Y el personal del hotel super agradable y a tu disposición en todo momento. Si vuelvo, repetiria sin duda.

This is an extremely old building in the most historic part of the city. Don't expect the Ritz but you are literally wedged between the basilica of the Virgen de la Encina and the Templar castle. The staff is monumentally friendly and the room I'm in (105, tau de los condes de Lemos) still has stone walls and a small balcony. If you stay here you have to walk across the plaza to "La Lechera - Heladeria" for a Spanish hot chocolate!! Ohh, the bed though soft is extremely comfy. And the bathroom is very modern and "American" with a tub large enough to soak your legs in after a long day of walking.
