Hunter Valley stay at Thistle Hill
Great spot to explore the Hunter Valley from. Beautiful grounds, great area to relax by the pool. Breakfast on site would have been fantastic or a breakfast basket in the room but other than that a perfect spot for a short break with our dog.

Beautiful spot!
Our stay at Thistle Hill Guest House was incredible - it’s such a beautiful property, and we were upgraded, which was such an amazing and very special surprise. We were blown away. We’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

We had a delightful stay. The room was lovely with many extras and the breakfast was great. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here. Would definitely book again. Highly recommended

All the small touches and attention to detail made this a most marvellous and enjoyable stay. Would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a weekend at the Vineyards. Beautiful rooms, super quiet and well maintained overall. Great fire pit area also. We give it a 10/10.

The stay itself was amazing however a slight misunderstanding with our booking. My stay was booked for the 18th of March to the 20th however Jo had it in her calendar for the 19th. We were still given a room however not the one we paid for Jo was very apologetic. The room we were given on the 19th was beautiful and lots of nice touches. Freshly baked biscuits, a cheese platter and wine.

Thistle Hill is set back from the road, and so peaceful. The owners Jo and John are genuinely friendly people. There was complimentary wine and cheese in the room, plus they brought a bottle of bubbly around as it was my birthday. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was included, and the perfect start to the day. The grounds were picturesque, and the pool refreshing. An absolute delight to stay there.

The property was situated away from the busy area. It was quiet, beautiful with a lot of space and greenery around. It was a quaint guest house, not commercialised at all. The hosts were great and the service was very personal.

Beautiful and well-maintained surroundings, peaceful place but at the same time close to one of the best wineries and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and generous. The owner, Jo, was lovely and friendly and bakes the best croissants we have ever tried. Overall, a good place to stay in the heart of Hunter Valley

The previous 10 out of 10 ratings says it All. Very warm greeting from my last minute booking. Upon arrival greeted with a Smile that didn't disappear from Donna's face. Nice, clean perfectly sized room. Plenty of recommendations for meals, wine tasting to just about anything & everything. And then there was a Special treat one morning for breakfast..? Loved the mushrooms is all I'll say, OH Yeh & we will be back. Thank you

Incredible stay. Owner Donna and Stuart are full of energy and dedicated to ensuring all guests have a wonderful stay. Beautiful French Provincial feel, lovely grounds, warm hospitality. Good location too. I now know why the reviews are amazing. Lots of little generous touches, like wine/cheese platter, surprise brownies, and fresh roses by the bedside. Although there are plenty of places to stay in the Hunter, I'd absolutely stay here again, and would recommend to family.

Thistle Hill is a beautiful place to stay in the Hunter and conveniently located amongst wineries and restaurants. Donna's hospitality couldn't be faulted and her little extra touches were much appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Excellent and cozy accommodation with very warm & welcoming hosts. Especially liked the muscat, cheese plate and bottle of wine in the fridge with bottled water as part of the stay. Highly recommended and close to everything in the Hunter Valley!

Donna and Stuart were the most incredibly accommodating hosts of any property I have ever stayed at. The cottage was spacious yet cosy and homely. The little personal touches made our stay so enjoyable and made us feel like we were being greeted by old friends. The location is also only a short drive to all of the hunters best wineries. I would Highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the hunter

Really nice property with a fantastic host. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely little extras left in our room each day, like home made brownies, cheese plate a bottle of their own wine. There was also lovely extras at breakfast including home made frittatas, fruit comports etc. Will definitely be back & highly recommend.

This guest house is absolutely charming! Nestled between lakes and trees, it is so peaceful and breathtaking. Donna was an absolutely wonderful host! We had a very warm welcome, grounds tour, restaurant recommendations, and amazing homemade breakfast. I would travel back to this area just to stay here! Cannot say enough wonderful things about Donna and her guest houses!
