"Another consistently excellent stay at The Residence. Super attention to detail. Rooms are excellent, the private pool is lovely, staff are attentive and the breakfast is amazing. Wonderful housekeeping lady and we feel safe and well looked after. Only request would be to have beach beds included or at a reduced rate for residents! "

"Heating insufficient and hotel did not answer my questions about that. Shower moldy and broken, we did not dare use it. Toilet unusable for a normal size person, the sink blocks you from sitting down (my wife was able to squeeze in diagonally). In general the room was in a state of disrepair and absolutely nothing like the pictures of the room we had booked. STAY AWAY"

"I suppose the kindest thing to say is that The Monkey Room is a "work in progress". The hotel/hostal is right in the centre of Marbella Old Town and although it sets out in adverts to be "chic" and "cool" it has a long way to go. While I was there a workman was on site preparing another cubby hole as a bedroom and I think my room was only half-finished. The nights were cold and only a single sheet covered the bed and, after moving my room to the one in the photo (instead of on the roof) I found...

"Un engaño. 1. Las fotos no reflejan la realidad. Los muebles son viejos, el baño no tiene ventilación, la cocina ridícula... 2. Muy MUY ruidoso. Está ubicado en una avenida principal que no paran de pasar coches y gente. Lugar ventajas no están acondicionadas ni son de climalite por lo que se le muchísimo el ruido. 3. La cortina en la ventana que da al patio interior se ha caído y no hacen nada por arreglarla. Entra mucha luz y no se puede dormir. 4. Pone que hay 2 cajas de matrimonio pero...

"We had a struggle checking in but that was our fault for not understanding there is a main hub to go to for checking in, you are then taken to the accommodation. Once we arrived at the apartment the whole family were blown away! It was just as described and with an amazing view. The reception and shop staff were very friendly and helpful. The Safari restaurant did lovely food but the staff were a bit manic and looked stressed and that would sometimes show in their service. The pool was plenty...

"Lovely spot on the outskirts of Fuengirola. Large pool area nice & quiet. Plenty sunbeds. Room was perfect with fab view of sea & pool area. No iron however in room. To pay this laundry service. Food good. Just had breakfast & pool bar menu. Overall good place for a nice break."
