"Okay I'm not one for leaving bad reviews at all but this is my honest opinion.
On arrival the exterior of the buildings and car park are very nice , and I thought wow. this should be a nice place to stay. The main part of the hotel and reception more traditional looking building and the separate room block looks modern and fairly new from the outside (almost like American motel style) We were greeted by a nice lady on reception and had a brief chat and were given our room number and location which was a room in the lower front (motel block)
On entering we were very disappointed, room was smelly (window was open),dated & very poorly furnished and certainly not clean , the main area of concern was the bathroom, it was badly needing a refurb, holes and cracks in the bath which had been siliconed up , sealing strips loose and when we showered it absolutely soaked the floor.
The whole room and furniture looked like it had been painted by a 5 year old, with two high backed velvet chairs at the window, I pulled one out to initially lay some clothes on and thought against this as it was manky at the area where ones crotch would be.
Old chocolate and a used sock under one of the beds.
Mattress was in dire need of a replacement.
On a plus the shower pressure was good.
Although we didn't pay much for this room I really do expect better.
Up your game please management at Richmond Park.
I never complained as we had an early start from Edinburgh Airport and didn't want any stress."
