"The cottage is fine and it is in a nice location BUT the details of the cottage listed on the Expedia website and Sykes Cottages are different and misleading. Expedia shows the cottage to be within the Penzance city centre & 8 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The cottage is 8 miles (13 kms.) from the Penzance city centre. "The Pirate Inn was the perfect place for our stop overs in Penzance before and after our holiday in the Isles of Scilly. Check-in was easy and we were made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff. The pods in the grounds were well equipped and extremely clean and comfortable. We had an excellent experience."

"Excellent service; really friendly and helpful people - thanks for an enjoyable stay. Well located right on front between central Penzance and Newlyn. Main hotel spaces are light and spacious; nice venue for the good breakfast. Only giving 4 stars because bedroom in Annex was small, with small window (above head-height) and v. warm in July - it’s expensive for a room of that size and comfort."

"Good location however if driving parking can be difficult, though paid parking across the road. £7.50/24 hrs. It is above a pub so can be noisy. Room spacious as we were 3 adults. Tea/coffee in room. Nice view from our room. Ocean views. Staff helpful. We had no hot water first night and they tried their best to get sorted. No air conditioning - a small fan in room - was hot, albeit middle of summer! Nice breakfast included- continental and cooked if you wish."

"Re:The Luggers this is a difficult one 🙄 Tho all facilities seemed to be covered, my room was really, really basic and was not impressed. Can't fault the bed, especially as - for me - I overlay the 1st morning. Breakfast was well provided tho quite basic, especially with the starters. I found that during my 3 night stay, the buffet breakfast was quite irregular with options 🤔 Would I stay again?? Actually, probably yes 😉"
