Hamilton Princess & Beach Club - a Fairmont Managed Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"EVERYONE on staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and so kind to ensure the best of customer service! The restaurants on property are terrific. We ate at The Intrepid for our 50th anniversary dinner and the food, presentation and service were OUTSTANDING! The Crown & Anchor Sunday Dinner was terrific and the Duchess cafe was a daily stop for us. Yum!
The property is well maintained, both landscaping and cleanliness and just beautiful to walk around to enjoy outdoor seating, the ocean views and fire pits! The infinity pool is the best one we’ve ever experienced traveling and the towels are first class! Absolutely guests should take advantage of the private beach club for the absolutely gorgeous ocean, beach amenities and delicious food that’s offered!
The only surprise I had was the final receipt we received during our flight back. It had an additional $120. gratuity added to our bill that wasn’t on our first receipt we received before checkout! We tipped generously to the bellman, EVERY time we asked for them to whistle us a cab, extra was always added to the restaurant’s fixed rate for service, cash tipping the jitney drivers as well as to the housecleaning staff in cash. This $120. being added to our total after we checked out this morning was surprising. We understood the daily facility rate etc., but would’ve appreciated transparency of this additional gratuity told to us at checkout."
"There were pro’s and cons to this resort. We were very early but were accommodated with an early check-in to a room at the level we had booked, which was great. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable although the view was mainly of shrubs rather than the ‘sea view’ we had expected and the patio doors weren’t very clean. I booked a table for Sunday brunch and when we arrived at the restaurant it was heaving - a good sign! - but the guy on the desk was brusque and wasn’t really interested in finding our booking when we said we were residents. He asked if we were ‘all inclusive’ and I said no, we weren’t, but he said we couldn’t have the Sunday Brunch, as residents ate at the pool restaurant. We had no choice but to go there and, to say the least, the food was not what we wanted. I did question this at Reception the following day and was told that, as we weren’t ‘all-inclusive’, we should have been able to dine in the restaurant and eat the Sunday brunch. Not impressed. Added to that, there was a rooster which paraded outside the room and crowed at around 6.00 a.m. every morning; he even paid us a visit, so I think people must have been feeding him. Again, not impressed. There was a huge storm while we were there and that sent detritus everywhere. A staff member used a leaf blower to clear it but left what looked like toilet paper draped on one of the bushes. There were also small slugs all over the little terrace afterwards. For the price, I really wouldn’t recommend."
"Staff was great. Restaurant was awesome. Rooms were clean. The cleaning staff was fantastic. My only gripe is that the rooms need updating. Would i go back? Yes but i may try something next time where the rooms are up to date."
"St. Regis in Bermuda is amazing. Excellent staff on every level. In-house restaurant is excellent. Easy and close access to beach. Beach is wonderful with drinks and food offered."
"It was the perfect stay for my wife and me during our 5 day stay. Food was amazing, our room was really nice and vibrant in a good way. The location made it really easy to explore Hamilton and be close to bus routes to spend the day at the beautiful beaches."
