"The toilet was so high up i couldn't do a sh*t. I'm six foot tall, but when I was sat on the toilet my feet were not touching the ground. Overall, the place was pretty bleak, e.g. no mirror in the bedroom to check my outfit, only one pillow so I got neck ache in bed, no towel rail or hooks anywhere in the bathroom so couldn't hang up a towel, no hook in the bedroom to hang up a coat, no toilet roll holder. "Breakfast buffet included both cold and hot dishes. Very clean and well maintained. Easy walk to Haymarket train and bus station. Tolerable walk to Royal mile. Lots of ethnic restaurants and coffee shops in the area."

Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel

"The hotel was nice. The location was great especially if you're there for Fringe. It's very centrally located. There are only like 6-7 parking spots available which was a bit difficult. They did tell me when I checked in that their guests can park at the other Apex hotel that is a minute walk away, but I didn't know that beforehand."

"It was a brand of hotel I'm not used to, but the place was fantastic. Rooms were small, but cozy. Staff was excellent. For an additional 15 pounds I was able to check into my room at noon, which was great since my flight arrived in the morning. Easy walk to the Tram or Airport Bus. Would definitely stay here again. Wish the room had a kettle or microwave. That's the only thing I thought was lacking."
