Booked this after having stayed in several Hilton properties and several Airbnb‘s. I wanted to try a French hotel. This one fit the bill and the reviews looked like it would be good for me. We booked five rooms over Christmas. You definitely needed temper your expectations to French and European standards not American standards. I had already done that so I found this to be a great stay. The location is perfect for us, it’s literally right in the middle of everything, the metro is very close, we walked to most of the attractions in the city without difficulty. Even in the winter when it was chilly, it was easy to get wherever we were going. Keep in mind that with Traffic, you are going to be a solid 45 minutes or more from CDG airport now, the rooms are small by American standards, but I think they’re pretty decent by French standards. This building is probably older than the United States so I can’t fault them for the size of the rooms. Our room had a view down the street with the Eiffel Tower twinkling at the end- quite lovely. The bed was comfortable. It’s a queen size we were OK with it. The shape of the room for us was a little bit unusual, but worked. 1 of the rooms we had had a separate toilet/ shower room which I thought was useful. Some rooms have shower and other rooms bathtub. My room had a bathtub and I use it the first night. It was deep and comfortable. The breakfast was French standard and good quality. The staff was nice. The price was good too. I’ll be back

Mon hôtel préféré en Paris.
An excellent French hotel. For Americans, the staff speaks English. Well situated in a not very touristic area. You can get anywhere easily. Un très bon hôtel français, bien placé, dans un quartier pas très touristique. De la, vous pouvez aller n’importe où facilement. Pas loin des jardins du Luxembourg.

Wonderful, well-priced hotel. The junior suites are worth the upgrade. Just across from Le Dome which serves excellent breakfasts and dinners and other great dining options.

Nice place to stay.
As with most European hotels, it was much smaller than we expected, but, We are just there to shower and sleep so I don’t need a lot of room. The neighborhood was nice, clean, staff was friendly, I felt safe there and they were accommodating with our luggage.

Had a great room (Superior Double) on the fourth floor overlooking the busy intersection at the heart of Montparnasse. The room was quiet, with good double-glazing, nice bathroom, comfortable bed and air-conditioning. So handy to Vavin Metro Station and an abundance of inviting eateries. Loved our view of the top of the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

Nice staff. On an intersection for easy Uber transportation with lots of cafes and shopping near by. The room were comfortable and the hotel had a Wondeful Continental breakfast. We would stay there again for sure

This was our 4th stay at Hôtel Raspail Montparnasse. Once again did not disappoint. Convenient location: walking distance to metro, restaurants, Montparnasse train station and Monoprix. Would not hesitate to book again!

Hotel Raspail Montparnasse is in an excellent location, close to the Metro and centrally located. There are several good restaurants, a grocery store and laundromat nearby. It is walkable to the RER B and Luxembourg Gardens. The room was quiet but a bit small. We were in the room to sleep and didn't spend much time so not a big deal. Decor was ok but could be updated. Breakfast was good and hotel staff were pleasant.

Great 3-star hotel in a very good location. Easy transport accessible and not quite as hectic as Marais. Nearby cafes are good - but can easily get to other neighbourhoods by train, bus or walking. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Very clean rooms and decent size. Will stay again.

Small & Problematic
This was a small room. It would have been adequate for our 2 night stay, but we had a few “little” problems. First, our in-room safe wouldn’t after we put our passports in it. The front desk man came immediately and used his special little tool to open the safe. The next problem was more an issue. About 6am the second night, my wife heard water dripping down on the bed. We quickly grabbed a few towels and put down where the water was falling. There was a little hole in the ceiling and that’s where the water was coming from. We called the front desk and they sent a man up immediately—he brought more towels. Within 10 minutes the water dripping stopped. We went back to sleep—though we weren’t sure if this was a temporary storage or not. We asked the front desk for some type of compensation for this issue, but to no avail. Overall, a nice little hotel—very basic. The location in Montparnasse is terrific. The staff very friendly and helpful—though no relief for water problem. I wouldn’t stay there again due to the water issue, and at $250/night it was not cheap.

Good service, fair price
We arrived a bit early for our check in. The lady at the reception was very friendly, made us coffees and told us she would find out when the room would be ready. We had our coffee in the bar area next to the reception, chatted a bit with each other, and the lady then told us the room would be ready in about 45 minutes. We then decided to go sightseeing for a bit and then come back. That was the first experience of the friendly service at the reception. The young gentleman in the evening shift was also very helpful The room was small but elegantly designed. It was was supposed to have a shower and bath tub combination, but there was only a shower. That was disappointing as one of the main reasons we chose this hotel was to have a bath. The bathroom was small and there was a little space for personal belongings. There was a big bottle of shower gel attached to the wall, no other toiletries. The room had a chargeable mini fridge. There was a kettle and 2 wine glasses and 2 champagne glasses on the table. The breakfast room was small, but big enough for the people having breakfast there. The choice was basic but the items were of good quality. Overall this is a good hotel with a good service for a fair price. The only reason for dissatisfaction was the lack of a bath in our room. I would not specifically choose this hotel over another hotel, but I would happily stay there again if I were to take an early morning train from Gare du Montparnasse.

Dear Sir, Your wife did mention a smell on the towels and they were changed. We did our best to satisfy you and even gave her the access to chose from the stock. You were the only clients complaining about a smell on the towels, Sir. We are delivered each day from our partner, it is likely this batch of towels were slitly wet. We did apologize for that, sorry it wasn't enough. Concerning the room size, it was your choice to book our 16 sq.m double room. We have rooms sized up to 32 sq meters, so it is not fair to write" the rooms are very small" when you have occupied only one category. It's not a secret the sizes are cleary mentioned on our website. "very bad service" - " experience to forgot" Do you refer to the tea and coffee offered every night when you were both in the lobby ? When you happily accepted we thought it would be a nice gesture to repeat each time you were at the bar and we are truly sorry you didn't appreciate the chocolate box offered to celebrate the new year. It is very sad to read your comment as you never complained when you were at the hotel. Regards

And if everything was so bad why didn't you inform the managment ? You know that every problem has a solution. We can well understand that you did not like to be with us and the "old " that is Art Deco style is not something you fancy.
