"Older hotel, but in a good way. Not luxury but comfortable and quiet. good bed and work area and internet. Nice leafy area. 24 hour supermarket and money exchange steps away. Lots of restaurants within a 15 minutes walk. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff that usually included a fluent English speaker."

"We weren't very pleased with this place. For starters, we found out upon arrival that we had to pay 6000 tenge for two people/two nights. Below is the only mention of potential fees: "Hotel fees The price DOES NOT include any applicable hotel service fees, charges for optional incidentals (such as minibar snacks or telephone calls), or regulatory surcharges. The hotel will assess these fees, charges and surcharges upon check-out." The staff claimed this was a newly imposed tax from Feb 2023. Well, I booked the hotel in June of 2023 and was not informed of this fee. It was also necessary to pay in cash. I've never had such a large charge not disclosed on Hotels.com. Aside from that, the breakfast had some issues (no toaster? terrible coffee, not ready on time) And the room was quite shabby and stinky. One positive was the staff was helpful with luggage storage both pre and post-checkout"
