My wife and I have been staying at TANTALO since 2017 and we have really enjoyed our time there. Some of the amazing things about TANTALO is the fact that the property is all inclusive with a hotel, restaurant and amazing roof top bar experience. My wife enjoy that for the last 7 years, many of the TANTALO staff are still working their. We met Mr. Anyelo who was our waiter from 2017 to 2024 is now considered both a brother to my wife and I. I want to also give a special thanks to additional current and past TANTALO staff. Mr. Lorenzo Robles (GM) was an amazing host to my wife and I. David the awesome Security Guard at nights has always treated my wife and I with VIP treatment. Angie has always been an amazing hostess. Rafael the former TANTALO Rooftop Bar has become a great friend and has always treated my wife and I like VIP Royalty when visiting the rooftop experience. Finally the front desk staff has always made checking in smooth and enjoyable. I am looking forward to our next visit in July or August and know that anyone reading this will have an equally enjoyable TANTALO experience. P.S It's a must to try the Passion Fruit Mohito after checking in a the delicious Watermelon juice after a long day of sightseeing. It's a great hydration drink.

The staff were the highlight - they were so nice and helpful. The art was beautiful. The rooms were clean. The food was good. Unfortunately Saturday night the bar was pumping loud music and the taxis were beeping their horns until 5am. The earplugs they provided helped, but sleep was definitely interrupted.

Fun place to stay - great artwork everywhere which made it fun. Arrived the first night late evening and had dinner on the rooftop. Food was delicious and the passion fruit mohito hit the spot after flying. The club on the top floor is loud, so if you are a light sleeper - it's not the hotel for you.

You need to bring serious noise cancelling headphones if you want to sleep. Earplugs are useless.

Cool property; Great Hospitality
Perfect location, super cool art everywhere, fantastic food, & superb service from start to finish! Yes, it can be a little noisy into the early morning hours, but I knew that when I booked - & it actually wasn't as much of a disturbance as I was expecting. I wish there was a coffee maker in the room & I definitely would have liked to have washcloths (like other reviewers, I found it odd that they don't have them). I will absolutely book this property for my next trip!

What we like. Very centric hotel. Excellent food and service. Everyone is super welcoming. What we didn’t like. The shower has very little pressure of water. They didn’t provide small towels and the fridge is not refilled every day as it’s supposed to be. Overall everything was good. I would stay here again.

Two issues: First all of the links indicated that parking was available, there was no parking at the hotel, parking lot was 400m away and you had to pay $26 for a night. Second was the concierge was zero help in answering questions and was zero proactive. Reception staff was excellent, courteous, helpful, cheerful, kudos to her.

It is a fun, funky hotel that is right in the heart of the old town. It is noisy, but they provide ear plugs. Great food and drinks! Daniel was very kind!

I WAS WITH A FRIEND AND WE HAD AN AWESOME TIME. YES YOU CAN HEAR NOISE BUT YOUR IN THE MOST ACTIVE AREA OF THE CITY. THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT AND VERY ACCOMODATING. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!! MANY PLACES TO EAT, DRINK AND SHOP NEARBY.

We loved the Tantalo! Our room was amazingly spacious and comfortable. The whole place is full of interesting art - each room has murals and interesting decor. The location is super convenient to everything in Casco Viejo and easy to go into new Panama as well, all on foot. But don’t worry if you don’t want to walk. There are taxis coming by the hotel every 30 seconds! The rooftop bar is fun and the breakfast downstairs is good. The room was clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint is the noise. The rooftop bar has loud music and happy loud people going until 2am on weeknights and 4am on weekends. The taxis honk their horns constantly. It was hard to sleep. Earplugs don’t help. So if you are a partier or a heavy sleeper, this is your place!!! Everyone is really nice.

The hotel is very nice. Large and clean rooms and very good food at both the restaurant as well as the roof top bar. The location is awesome! You are in the middle of Casco Viejo and within minutes of walking distance you can get to all highlights!

A wonderful experience! From check where they quickly and gladly helped us with a parking issue, to a delicious dinner and breakfast, and a fun experience at the pretty roof bar, this place was great. Very economical too. The room was nice and spacious as well and the staff sooo friendly! Great management and wait staff too. Can’t recommended this place enough!

We really enjoyed our stay at Tantalo. I was apprehensive given all the comments about noise but it was no issue, at least not for us. The room is spacious, bed is very comfy, shower pressure is great- we will definitely be back!

Beware of the drum beats!
The property itself was very nice as was the location, the restaurant and the service. But if you want to get a good nights sleep don’t even think about it. The nighttime extremely load music until 4AM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and 2 AM on other nights was unbearable.

My husband and I stayed here twice recently and we really enjoyed our experience. We loved the individuality of each room as well as the artwork throughout the hotel. We also liked the great location and had a fantastic time exploring the area! It is definitely not super quiet but we were fine with my white noise app on my phone. We would absolutely consider staying here again!

You won't get a good night's sleep.
If you want to sleep, don't stay here. In fact, don't stay in any hotel within two blocks. Rooftop dance party every night until 2pm. The bass reverberates through the building. Earplugs, television, loud music of your own are all ineffective. This is really more of a nightclub and restaurant. Hotels are primarily about a place to sleep, and this one doesn't offer that amenity until after 2am. They did not tell us any of this until the day before with an email about the noise, but that they have insulated the walls and offer free earplugs. Neither help.

I wanted to love this hotel - a bit chic, artsy, with a cool rooftop bar I'd heard about. Panama City is a rough place, and for anything that is it all approaching US standards in cleanliness and safety, it would cost 2-3x. But there were hints of trouble - room safe broken, wifi didn't work, AC never got cold - and I should've turned round and walked out if that had been realistically possible given the time constraints of Trip. But it never is. The real problem happened when the sun went down and the Music volume went up... There was a huge private party/rave directly above me. This was not volumes of people or music that normal humans not working near aircraft should ever experience! Admittedly it looked super fun, but it was private and closed. Even with noise canceling AirPods, external earmuffs/phones and sleep aids, there was absolutely zero chance of any sleep. The music did not turn down until 4 AM. I did try to complain Spanish - English barrier) but no success. If it were a quiet weekday, maybe this place would have some potential, but cannot emphasize enough how much you should avoid it on any weekend or holiday! Much more a night club than hotel. No refund offered. Still tired... AVOID!!!

The staff at the hotel were excellent. There is a great restaurant and roof top bar. The General Manager made a point to check in with me (and other guests) multiple times throughout my stay. The team were pleasant had helpful.

Weekend at the Tantalo
Very good stay. Excellent service. The staff was very helpful. There is a very lively rooftop bar if you are looking to party. If you are looking for a good night sleep, then this may not be a good option. I didn't mind because I had already read the reviews. The front desk staff was excellent and very helpful. She even helped me with my luggage and helped with taxi ride and uber. I can't remember her name, sorry.
