The Magnolia is perfectly placed in the heart of Casca Viejo in Panama City. It’s also a very short drive (10 min) to the Miraflores Visitor Center to see the Panama Canal.
It’s incredibly walkable. It’s a five min walk to all the attractions in Casca Viejo. I also found it easy to get picked up and dropped off for ride share apps (Uber). The hotel offered a pick up/drop off service from the airport. I used the service to get from the airport to the hotel so that I wouldn’t have to worry about transportation first thing. It would have been simple to just call an Uber and it would have saved me about $20. Ubers in Panama City in general are very easy.
The hotel also offered a daily walking tour of Casca Viejo (tips only). This tour was great! It was about 2.5 hours. It left the lobby at 9:45 am. Walked all over. This may have been the highlight of my stay.
The hotel was nice. It was clean, the beds were firm, the bathroom had shampoo and body wash. It felt slightly dated but not dirty.
There was a shared kitchen space so all guest could cook, use the fridge or freezer, use the appliances, share ingredients/spices, etc. I didn’t use the shared kitchen but I think that’s a cute idea. There was tea and coffee offered every morning in the shared kitchen area (there was not a coffee maker in the room).
The staff were nice and gave me information about where to eat a few times.
They offer luggage storage, which we used twice without any problems.
