Lovely boutique property in the heart of Casco Viejo. Centrally located within the Casco, we could walk everywhere. Service was lovely and their restaurant in the main level was lovely too. Our room was a good size and it had lovely amenities. Super nice decor and very clean. There was an elevator to get to the third floor where our room was which was nice and our room had AC.

Charming Boutique Hotel
The Amarla was a charming boutique hotel located near the Plaza de Francia in the Casco Viejo area of Panama City. The staff were friendly and helpful, even holding ours bags for us after we checked out. The hotel is in a very walkable area.

We stayed at Amarla twice - one night on either end of our trip. Both times we were in the Superior Deluxe Suite. It was awesome! The hotel is quaint and has a ton of style. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Our room was 2 stories with a separate living area from the bedroom. It was great having a balcony to people watch from as well. The rooftop has a small pool and lounge area. There is also a restaurant attached. We were only able to eat breakfast there as they couldn’t accommodate diet restrictions for dinner time though. I would highly recommend Amarla if you are in the Casco Viejo area! It was totally central to everything and super easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Just book it!

Amazing hotel in the old town
This place is a hidden gem and we highly recommend. We had an amazing room. The staff are so friendly and felt like friends after our week stay. the location is unbeatable and great for walking to all the sights and bars and restaurant's in the old town. We also explored islands, rainforest, jungle, high rise city and Panama Canal and Monkey island . We need to return as there is still so much to see. We also loved the breakfasts and the hot tub on the roof garden area. We usually stay in Marriotts/ Hyatts this place was so much better the decor was amazing and a lovely ambience.

This is such a lovely hotel. The rooms are so comfortable with great beds, lovely additions like the silk robes, and a fantastic shower. The rooftop is really beautiful with a jacuzzi big enough comfortably for 4 people. The breakfast is great food although quite limited from the menu - there are only 4 or 5 hot options. We however figured out that we could add and change things as the week progressed, as we decided what we liked the most. I’d really recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly couples, as the rooms and roof are very romantic.

I can’t think of a negative thing to say about this hotel. From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice it feels chic and upscale without a bit of pretense. The staff is warm, more than accommodating—and that’s applicable to every person I met there. And the welcome cocktail was a nice touch. The attention to detail in the restaurant, common areas, and rooms was incredible. They spared no expense and just made really smart design choices with the space they had. Aside from the aesthetics and great staff, there was a lot in the way of creature comforts: quiet and adults only, great bed, best breakfast I’ve ever had included in a price—and better than most I’ve had when I eat out—pour over coffee setup in the room with excellent coffee supplied, a well-stocked fridge, nice bath products, lovely rooftop, location central to everything in the neighborhood. Got so much more here than I would at most any price point, but Amarla was a total steal. It’s a newer hotel, but I’m sure it’s going to be a hard to get reservation in no time. Whether you’re going solo or with a companion, you’d be nuts to skip this place.

5-star property all the way
I can't believe this is listed as a 3-star property. The Amarla is amazing. The customer service is top-notch - the drinks and cold towels at check-in, the friendly knowledgeable staff and daily eco-bottled water delivery to the room. The hotel is gorgeous - stayed in a classic room and everything was well-appointed. The included breakfast - so many options and all of them are cooked to order (includes fruit plate, drink and entree). I would stay again in a heartbeat!

Beautifully furnished room, complete with pour-over coffee and electronic kettle for the water. We were in the one with the spiral staircase which could easily be a studio apartment, just add a kitchenette. All, and I mean all, of the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of the way to give us an outstanding visit. Great breakfast and the restaurant is top-notch as well. If I'm ever back in Panama City I'm staying here.

Amarla in Casco exceeded our expectations - at every point, from check in to the room, the design of the hotel, the location, the quiet, the sophistication and service - just wonderful. Great Place
The Amarla is a wonderful boutique hotel. The amenities in the room were excellent. The service was five star. Everyone we ad interaction with were friendly and happy. The food in the restaurant was great. The chef is excellent. Flavor profiles were very good. This restaurant is frequented by the locals, not just hotel guests. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Panama City.

Boutique hotel in beautiful Casco Viejo. Charming beautifully restored building, balconies, flowers, greenery. Amarla's staff was absolutely fantastic, catering to our every request. Concierge service made arrangements for us on a very tight schedule, thank you! Breakfast was included, not a big menu, but all I tried was delicious and beautifully presented. Restaurant Kaandela in the hotel serves dinner, and is one of the best in the area. Bonus - as a guest you receive a discount. We took an early morning trip (5am) and the staff prepared our breakfast to go (boxed). This is adult only hotel. Perfect to relax, quiet, historical.

I changed my initial hotel to Amarla about a week before taking the trip and I'm so glad I did! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and not only was the hotel and the room gorgeous, but also the staff was immensely accommodating, and with it being a boutique hotel, there's much more attention to detail with who is staying with them at the time. Couldn't recommend this place enough, and I hope to be back soon!

This is a great hotel - lovely rooms that are unique - with great service. We so enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this as a place to stay. The restaurant downstairs where we had breakfast each day and dinner there one night was outstanding. I don’t normally do reviews but this hotel deserves all the five stars - it is a beautiful hotel in the part of town you want to be in….and the people there really made a difference.

I had a lovely stay at this gorgeus hotel. It is indeed a true arquitectural icon in Casco Viejo, full of art, textures and the best of all, lovely staff to assist you all the way. I was looking for very boutique and quiet experience, and I got nothing but the best. Highly recommended for those who are looking to stay at a lovely and elegant spot. Highlight: rooftop and jacuzzi
