Here's our take on Palm Canyon Resort:
Pros:
Despite some concerns about room conditions from other reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. While the rooms are a bit dated, they're clean, and there have been some nice cosmetic updates. Our spacious room with a huge balcony and kitchenette suited our family perfectly. In fact, the bed was even more comfortable than the ones we had at the Westin earlier in the week. Plus, the resort's proximity to downtown Palm Springs, just 3 miles away, was a big plus.
Cons:
If you're here for the pool, brace yourself for an early morning rush. Folks start lining up at 8 am to snag chairs, and by 8:30, they're all gone. This can be frustrating if you're hoping to relax by the pool during peak times, especially during spring break when the resort seems to be at full capacity. As for dining options, the only choice within walking distance is the pool grill. And if you're a coffee lover like us, be prepared to make your own in-room brew, as there's no coffee available onsite.
Overall, Palm Canyon Resort offers a comfortable stay with some minor inconveniences. It's a solid affordable choice for families looking for a mid-tier option with ample space and amenities, but be prepared to strategize your pool time and dining options accordingly.
