Closeness to Tulip Festival For the price We expected a much better breakfast. The staff did not keep it supplied, sausage meat tasted cheap cardboard, eggs were not the best, fresh yogurt with granola would be great. Also we expected bed to be made and new towels on the second day, we were not told that would not occur.

We were under staffed in housekeeping. A canary message was sent to your phone letting you know to come to the desk if services were needed. Having 55 rooms full of people and one person in breakfast is a lot for any person. I do apologize for the breakfast running low. We refilled it 10 times from 6-9. Food takes time to cook. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you on your next stay.

The toilets did not work in the room except for a few times while we were there. And management was able to fix them. It was a horrible experience we had to walk all the way 800 feet down the hall to use the bathrooms. And the phones didn’t work in the room either. it was not a good experience at all

Our handicap room was on the second floor and there is no elevator in the hotel. My husband can’t do the steps. They did change us to a regular room on first floor that had a bad odor as soon as you walked in the door.

The room smelt musky, the bathroom had multiple centipedes a night, the bathtub either needed replaced or deep bleach cleaning, and the bed had springs broken which made it uncomfortable.

Some opportunities for improvement
I was disappointed with my stay. The service was fine. When I got into my room one of the lamps did not work, the bathroom door did not close all the way, and there was an inch gap with the entry door and the wall leaving a space for the hallway light to come in. All of these together made it uncomfortable to feel safe as a single traveler.

Location was good, property was not. Would never stay there again. Hvac did not work properly, phone light kept coming on in the middle of the night, bed was super soft, too much so for our liking. Place smelled like animals. Middle of bed frame had a piece that sticks out, and smashed into my leg.

Thank you for taking the time fill out our survey, like we discussed this morning about the A/C unit if we would have known about it sooner we could have moved your room, again I'm sorry you hurt urself on the bedframe, we did get that pushed back into place. We are a pet friendly hotel and have serval people who stay with us that bring in their pets everyday, we shall try harder to make sure there is no lingering pet smell I do apologize about that as well. I can not do to much about the beds being to soft for you, we usually get praised on how nice and comfortable the beds are, so we obligated by corporate to only have the one kind. If you were so unpleased with your stay I would have loved to have known all this at check out when we spoke about the A/C and the phone, you had not expressed you were that unpleased, but again I do apologize about everything that went wrong for you and I do hope you will consider us for your next stay so that we may prove that our standards are very much accommodating to your needs and expectations. I sincerely hope you have a wonderful day.

It was good stay. Hotel bed and bathroom were clean. Check in was easy and next to a Walmart. We were there to watch a college football game.

Good overall, with exceptions
Room was clean, with new carpet, but had a vinegar cleaning solution smell, sprayed in room to kill any mold. Bathroom did not vent at all. Desk clerk said that was a problem in that particular room. Overall stay was good.

Everspring takes good care of their property, and I would rank them with other hotels that I've paid twice to three times as much for. I will book a room there pretty much every time I am in Oskaloosa.

The first room we were assigned to did not smell fresh, possibly a urine smell. The staff was very accommodating to give us a different room. The room we stayed in needed some care: broken window shade, air conditioning unit vents broken, bathroom floor tiles and grout cracked, broken, bathroom mirror edging cracked, toilet seat loose, etc. These may seem like small things, but it makes a difference in how one views the accommodations overall. The bed and bedding were fine. The continental breakfast was adequate if you like pancakes, eggs, and such in the hot breakfast offerings, but there were only two oranges in the fruit basket, no apples, bananas, or other fruit was available. Otherwise the dining area was clean and orderly.
