I booked this hotel through Expedia, choosing the "pay at property" option. When I checked out, I was charged about 8% more than the confirmed price—roughly $30 extra. I wouldn’t have minded if I had been informed at the time of payment or when I followed up with Expedia, but the hotel never responded to their inquiries and didn’t provide any invoice or written notice explaining the charge.
Later, I discovered that other guests had the same issue, showing this was not a one-time mistake but a pattern of dishonest behavior. I stayed at five hotels in Peru using the same Expedia option, and only this hotel charged a different amount. This was completely unacceptable and dishonest.
In terms of facilities and service, this was the worst of the 10 hotels I stayed in during my one-month trip in Peru. Here are specific examples:
The Wi-Fi was the worst—completely unusable.
The room was outdated, and the electrical outlets were so loose that I had to use a chair to hold the plug in place to charge my phone—one device at a time.
The hotel is located on a main road near the train station, so it was extremely noisy with constant sounds of cars, motorcycles, and trains.
At breakfast, there was no staff present when we arrived. There was very little milk left, and there was only one plate available for guests to use at the buffet. We had to wait 10 minutes for more plates, and when the staff finally brought them, they didn’t apologize or smile.
