"This property is VERY unique because it is located on the Hopi reservation. For those who seek to be one with nature and the earth, this is the place to be. The Hopi community is very friendly and helpful. A word of advice, however, is that the information provided online says the registration desk is open to 7:30pm (Hopi time or Arizona/Mountain standard time). This is NOT the case. We received a phone call at 4:00pm telling us that the registration desk was closing at 5:00pm. We were in Tuba City, AZ at the time ... a good 60 miles from the Hopi Cultural Center. And Tuba City is on Navajo time, which is Federal/Mountain daylight time. So we had to hightail it up the mesa to get to the check-in desk on time. We got there as they were closing and were given a room with a single full bed instead of two double beds as asked for in the reservation. This was not noticed at first because we were more concerned about eating dinner than checking out the room. The restaurant is CLOSED on Sundays for deep-cleaning. The nearest village store that was still open was 30 minutes away, so we grabbed some deli sandwiches. Our first night of sleep was cramped but the room was changed the following morning to the correct one. Once the restaurant opened on Monday morning, we were able to have a great breakfast, including blue corn meal mush. All in all, it was a nice stay ... just remember that there is a time difference between the Hopi reservation and the Navajo reservation."
