Olavinlinna Castle

The most northernly castle in Europe is Olavinlinna. The castle was started in 1475 and was originally built to repel the Russians. It didn't work and the castle changed hands numerous times from the Swedes, the Russians and eventually back to the Finns. The castle is now the host of the annual opera festival held in July.
