"The hotel is only a block away from Takayama station and is an easy walk to the touristy Old Town. The staff were great and the room was nice. The Onsen was not bad. "

"The onsen facilities were quite impressive with many pools including outdoor mixed gender ones (until 9 or 10pm), where you put on their provided clothing. Outdoor onsen in cold dark night creates a beautiful atmosphere. The dinner and then breakfast were excellent and unforgettable. "Very nice ryokan. We loved the Japanese clothes provided, and dressing for meals. The onsen was excellent (thought we wish it stayed open one more hour at night). Japanese breakfast was excellent. Convenient to the train station (a couple of blocks) and all of the Takayama attractions (walking, by bus, or by taxi). This is a justifiably difficult reservation to obtain during peak season. "
