Came to Switzerland for a solo trip and stayed just for one night. I really enjoyed the quiet location of this hotel, just a little outside of Zurich. The room was excellent, felt newly renovated, and I was warmly greeted by Marlis, who was super friendly and accommodating. Would totally stay here again!

We searched for a long time before we found this property. It is beautiful and charming. The food was excellent. This location is family owned. They were helpful and friendly. It was clean. The communication was excellent. If you have the opportunity to stay here take it! You won’t be disappointed. There were 3 couples in our party.

I cannot mention enough wonderful things about this place. The staff is so warm and welcoming, makes you feel at home. They have a restaurant and use fresh ingredients from their farm and nearby. Huge shoutout to Marc (staff) who always went above and beyond so that our stay would be memorable. He was also fluent in Spanish, which helped us a lot! We had an early checkout the morning we were traveling and Marc made sure we had sandwiches to take on the long journey back to the airport. The landscapes are amazing, very short walk to and from the bus station. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

A wonderful one night stay...highly recommend.

We had an enjoyable l one night stay at Gasthaus zum Bauernhof. The check in process was very unique in that your key is awaiting you but we did not see anyone who worked there until later. The beds were very comfortable, the room was spacious and we appreciated the adjoining rooms our family shared. We were tired so we did not choose to eat at the restaurant, but it the food smelled wonderful. Found a grocery store for some picnic items instead. Spoke to the owner/manager and were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. Not as many choices as we have had in other places but delicious nonetheless. Mixed with other guests, which we enjoyed. If there was a downside to our stay it was the loud, screaming children running freely around the hotel. We would have loved to leave the windows open in such a beautiful setting but it was impossible and the noise continued until quite late. Not blaming the hotel, just disrespectful parents.

We spent one week here in July 2023 and could not have been more pleased. The hotel is as beautiful and charming on the outside as it is on the inside. It is family owned and run and the service you receive is like none other. Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the moment we stepped inside. We were provided suggestions and recommendations of places to see and hiking trails to check out from Marc. A daughter even told us where we could find an authentic cowbell to take home as a souvenir…and called the shop to make sure some were available! Daily breakfast was traditional Swiss with breads, cheeses, meats, and eggs. Dinner was a fine dining experience. The location is central to all the tourist cities like Lucerne, Zurich, Interlaken, etc. From the hotel it’s a quick 2 minute walk to the local bus station. We truly enjoyed our time here and cannot recommend this hotel enough. It’s a hidden gem and you will not be disappointed!!

I absolutely can not say enough good things about this establishment. They are so loving and personal and patient. I swear they all speak six languages. The beds are so comfortable, the showers have excellent water pressure and the rooms are very modern within a working farm. Upon arrival we were given a syrup mixed with sparking water drink they were making from scratch in the kitchen. They were willing to make any accommodations we needed but we opted for their dinner and it was a four course dream with the best wine we ended up having during our ten day trip. Their attention to detail is magnificent. They have a lot of homemade gifts for sale which we loved for family back home. The breakfast was huge and included in the room rate. They made us fried eggs on top of the meat, cheese, fresh bread and fresh juice spread. They also had fruit and yogurt with toppings. Many of the ingredients are from their farm. I really can’t believe the price for what you get. It was about 45 min from Zurich by train and bus. A car probably could have made it in 20 min. Do not pass this place up!
