"Our stay at lodge Matsuya in Nozawaonsen was great. The proprietors were very kind and will accommodat most requests. The property was very quiet in mid April, as most of the skier crowds are not around. There were only a couple other guests so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We used the public onsen across the street, but the lodge onsen is also available if the public one is too hot for your taste. "A classic no-frills ryoken in a great location. We stayed here for a ski trip and we're very happy with he stay. The owner is super friendly and accomodating. We loved being able to walk everywhere and there was a nice spot nearby to park our rental car."

Nice property!
"A very comfortable stay for us on a road trip. The property is located in the mountains, about 30-45 minutes to the coastline where all the actions are. Rooms were very clean and spacious. We had rooms that overlook the ski lifts. We went during the quiet season so there was limited dining options. It is a huge property with lots of attractions and we could imagine the buzz in the peak seasons. There was no air-conditioning in the rooms during our stay but the staff brought in electric fans which did the job. A nice stay after all."
