"Fabulous property /grounds. Got upgraded to a lake view cottage which was spacious and comfortable. The Continental breakfast included with our room rate was really tasty and there was lots of choice. Dinner in the York bistro was especially good. Great service from all the staff. A really friendly, relaxing place to stay with easy access to enjoy the pretty town of Martinborough as well as the various wineries. "

"Under construction and I did not know this. The deck was not usable because of scaffolding and dust, couldn’t get the tv to display visual just Audio. All this aside, great location, Apartment was well appointed and nice functional layout, full kitchen and full laundry area with both washer and dryer and sink. I’d recommend. "

"The apartment was very good, clean, comfortable had all you need for a short stay and making simple meals. Very handy for central Wellington and parking on site. Helpful staff and clean rooms. Don’t expect a view, its surrounded by multistorey carparks and the back of other hotels. Biut very few hotels in Wellington do have a good view. It was pretty quiet most of the night, as it's tucked away from the bars and clubs. However, what spoilt an otherwise excellent stay was being woken...

"We stayed one night at Castaways and loved the beautiful, peaceful location away from town. The view from our studio was wonderful! The room was excellent with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is a must – the buffet was really good. The only downside is no direct beach access; you have to walk a couple of hundred metres down the road without a footpath, so watch out for cars. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we’d happily recommend it."

"There are additional charges for towel changes, room cleaning, and parking. Even if you stay for multiple nights, they only provide a single-use supply of laundry detergent. The bathtub drain was clogged from the start, and when I mentioned it, they told me they would clean it for an extra fee. I ended up buying drain cleaner at a nearby supermarket to fix it myself. The washer-dryer is installed upside down, but it worked fine. I think the location is convenient."
