Sonesta Columbus Downtown

8/10 Good

"It's nice that it's close to the convention center but there was a lot of confusion when checking in. When pulling up we weren't sure where to go to check in BEFORE parking; so we went straight to park and take the walkway over BUT the doors to get in to Sonesta were room key locked so we had to go back outside and around to get in. I get it's a security thing but it would have been nice to know where to pull up before parking. Only other issue was it felt like some areas were cleaner than others. As well as the room having a peculiar smell. Overall comfortable with the stay."

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbus I-70E/Reynoldsburg

"First the good. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. However, the hotel itself is a little run down. Flooring in rough shape and just needed some love. And we were disappointed that there was no working elevator. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal but our son was three weeks out from acl repair surgery and the steps were difficult for him. Our room wasn't very clean. There were smudges, dirt, and stains from what looked like some kind of substance running down the wall, floors and door casings were dirty and it looked like someone had marked all over the floor. The pull out sofa bed didn't have a cover and the mattress had stains. There was lvp flooring which was nice but it was sticky. And FYI, the doors to the bedroom section of the suite have glass panels so no privacy for those traveling with children or other adults. Just disappointed in the overall lack of cleanliness."

"This is the second time within three years that I have stayed at the Drury Hotel Polaris. Both times have been such a pleasant surprise. The property and my rooms have been very clean, which is the most important thing for me. The staff has been super friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and dinners have been enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!"

"If you enjoy hospitality with the warmth of a DMV and the charm of a haunted yard sale, this is your spot. The owner doubles as the front-desk oracle — and what an oracle: never answer the phone, summons you in person like it’s a sacrament, and dispenses sarcasm instead of smiles. The maid is also the groundskeeper, towel-trader, and likely the facility’s entire HR department. Mini-fridge came as a scent-sampler; we had to air it out, plug it in, and hope our drinks survived the spa treatment. Towels are on a strict one-in, one-out policy — literally: no clean towel unless you surrender a used one like it’s currency. The room’s cleanliness is best described as “optimistically tidy” — featuring a bonus roach climbing the wall and a comforter that tells stories you don’t want to hear. Bring your own towels, bug spray, and a sense of humor. Or don’t."
