"I had a very goos stay at the Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort and would definitely rate the hotel itself five stars. The property has two sectionsāone directly on the beach and another across the street, which is where I stayed. My room was fantastic, with high ceilings, a jacuzzi on the balcony, and a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
The location is excellent and reminded me a little of Aruba in the sense that you can walk in almost any direction for a quarter mile or so and find shops, restaurants, and plenty of dining options. There is also a local church not too far away, which was nice to visit.
The food in the area was a little hit or miss. While walking around, I was occasionally approached by people trying to sell things or even offering drugs, so certain parts of the surrounding area could feel a little sketchy at times. That being said, the hotel grounds themselves felt very safe, secure, and well monitored.
The guests and many of the people around the property were extremely friendly. Some of the staff, however, didnāt always seem to fully embrace the warm āPura Vidaā spirit I expected.
The hotel is about an hour from the airport, and the drive was a little tough in both directions. Still, considering the roughly four-and-a-half-hour flight, the overall trip was well worth it. The breakfast was very good also and not expensive if it wasnāt included in your package. A beautiful property, a fantastic room, and a great Costa Rica experience overall."
"The stay was nice and the location to the beach was great. The bed was very hard and it was difficult to get any rest. Not as much privacy on the porch area was a negative but the staff was excellent."
"The food was amazing. Wendy was amazing, she helped me and my family( a group of 4 kids women) get whatever we needed. The other staff were nice as well. Mr. B, Kenneth, Danni, Will, Alonzo, Wendy etc! They were so nice and helpful. The only thing is that they are renovating the other property so stuff was shut down. Couldnāt go ATV riding, but we found one off the property. The town of Samara was nice too. Nice locals."
"The beach view was amazing.
The view from the pool was amazing.
They said my reservation wasn't booked with my vip status, so no vip perks.
Breakfast says buffet, and the picture shows buffet, but it's Ć la carte, so not a buffet for the price; you can get a better breakfast elsewhere."
The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"This property was incredible. The staff were friendly and incredibly attentive. Excursions were fun. Our only negative was the food. Breakfast was perfect every morning at the market but the remaining meals were fair at best."
"Fabulous property and location. Staff were awesome, especially Francisco. Lots of restaurants and bars close by, if you want to try something outside the resort. Very safe and quiet area. A couple of things, one the roads are not all paved and the dirt ones are very rough. Two, great for families, but a few too many kids during our stay. Next time, we probably go adults only."
