This hotel offered exactly the location I was seeking, only minutes from the beach and the Promenade des Anglais. We arrived from the airport on the L2 Tram and it’s only a few blocks walk from the stop for the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen. There is an ample terrace on the 1st floor with a few lounge chairs and tables, which made for a very pleasant spot to decompress after a busy day, or a great morning spot for planning the day’s excursions. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and our small room was impeccably clean, although the carpet was a bit past its prime.
My preference had been a room with a balcony, but none were available online so I booked the Classic Double room, following up with an email requesting the upgraded room but was told the hotel was full. Upon checking in, I asked about balcony availability and was offered a larger room for an additional fee, but it since it still would not have had a balcony, I opted to stay with my original room.
Room 111 was small but manageable for 2 adults, but the shower pan was a miniscule 2 ft square (.6 meters) with sliding doors that required contortions to get in and out, so I can’t give it top marks because of that. Our room had a large window looking out onto the side street, we did not hear any city noise, and the A/C worked well. There was a small fridge, which was convenient for taking beverages and pizza (from across the street) to have a relaxing dinner on the pebbled beach, sitting among local families.
