"The Avoca is located along the sea front and the foot of the Mourners mountains. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our stay which was to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff kindly presented her with a bottle of prosecco and birthday card - much appreciated.
The room and bathroom were very clean and well supplied. The bed and bedding very comfortable.
Breakfast was very good and the kitchen was willing and able to prepare items that were not on the menu.
The bar selection was fine with some tasty whiskies.
We are an "elderly" 7couple and the layout of the hotel was challenging - no lift, climbing stairs, some of which had no handrail - which we brought to the attention of management. Also some areas were poorly lit.
Given the unusual layout of the hotel, staff were helpful and supportive with baggage etc and this was appreciated by us.
Overall, a warm friendly and well-located hotel which proved to be good value for money.
