Check in was easy. There were ample luggage carts. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a nice variety of breakfast choices. Getting back in I 40 was a breeze.
We love staying at Hampton. The breakfast and staff were amazing. The one thing I learned this trip was they have rooms for pets. The room we got this time smelled like a wet dog. I thought at first it was just musty but I was incorrect. So we don’t have animals but we were put in a pet room. I will ask from now on. Other than that it was a great Hampton once again!
due to no fault of the hotel staff, the check in was delayed caused by their computer system being down. the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating in getting through the delay.

Hair on the bathroom floor
The bathroom floor had long black hairs everywhere. It was obvious that it had not been swept prior to us entering the room. The sink, bathtub and toilet had a few of the long black hairs also. I immediately checked the beds and they were clean so we just put towels down on the bathroom floor to cover the hairs, wiped the sink, bathtub and toilet, changed clothes and went to bed.
Hotel clerk could not find my hotel reservation. Took over 30 minutes to check because the clerk said I did not have a reservation. Showed the clerk the confirmation email from Hotels.com and the clerk not good enough. Hotel needs to fix it ability to find reservations from third party web sites.

Room was relatively clean in general. Looked like they had done a renovation in last 5 years or so, but cut corners, so vents, fixtures, tile, etc. we’re original and it showed. Area is a bit sketchy, but plenty of dining options. There is a very low end hotel right behind the hotel, so rooms on back of building looked right at it, not ideal.
We were placed in a room that stunk of either mildew or mold. I will be complaining about this on social media, to warn others about its condition. I could barely get to sleep due to the stink.
The hotel front desk guy was supposedly adding military discount for the room but instead did a whole different reservation under a different person with the same name as me and different address and it actually cost me more than what I paid!!!
My stay was amazing but my experience with Hotels.com was not. The email I received had NO confirmation number and Hotels.com will not talk to you without a confirmation number. The reservation was not showing in the hotel computer. The front desk clerk was extremely kind, helpful, and finally got it straightened out.
I had trouble checking in because Expedia had not sent a confirmation number for the hotel, only an itinerary number. I had to wait over 20 minutes to check in after doing the virtual agent thing. It was not the hotel but hotels.com

This place was so clean. I loved the lay out the room. I really enjoyed the bathroom having shower gel as well as hand soap and lotion dispenser on the sink. The beds were so comfy. This was definitely the best hotel I have visited in Tennessee.
