Hotels near Newman University

"We had booked a room so we could be close to the Century II where our event was being held. When we arrived to check in after a long drive (9:30pm), we were told the hotel had an "HVAC issue" that led to them shutting down a couple of floors. We were told they didn't have a room for us. No advance call, no warning. They rebooked us at another Mariott property, an Aloft, hotel which was 30 minutes away and made for transportation and parking issues. It totally changed our trip and the Aloft we were sent to was not very nice. While the hotel did find us a room and comped our room, the total lack of communication in the hours leading up to our arrival was extremely disappointing. Being told by the staff that the Aloft we were rebooked at was only "5 minutes away" when it was 30 minutes away was also misleading and disappointing. To add to it, I now am on some sort of Ambassador and Mariott marketing email lists that are pretty excessive. The entire experience could and should have been handled better by the hotel with some advance communication. "

"Very noisy neighborhood. Motorcycles kept going up and down the street at all hours of the night The beds seemed smaller than we what we thought we were getting. We had two queen beds- seemed a lot smaller than the queens we have at home. It was close to Century plaza which was great. "

"There is not a hot tub here. There is a pool but it's freezing cold. I got this hotel for the hot tub. That's at their sister property. There is a mix up of properties and still hadn't been refunded. I was also over charged by Expedia did not get the room rate advertised"

"We have stayed here several times. Always clean, friendly staff, best valet parking and close to everything we need! Nice indoor pool and hot tub and the coffee bar is excellent. We will be back!"

"The staff was great; very accomodating. The room was okay. We had a king bed but there was only one night stand. A small table was provided, but there wasn't a wall socket to charge a phone. The staff said that they were working on that but it was for a later date. The blanket on the bed was very cumbersome. We ased for a light weight blanket. All they had was a ragged old one one"

"I think a small bar area would help guests relax and mingle. "
