Thank you for staying with us. We noticed the slow sink drain and took care of the issue. And you are right, Barbara - we ARE an older vintage motel and we don’t see that as a negative at all. We embrace our unique charm and appeal. We do have very large family rooms available with a shower/bath combo. There are pictures of both types of rooms on the booking site. It all depends on what a guest chooses.

Thanks for staying two nights with us, Kathy. Years ago the State Fire Marshall was doing the annual inspection and he commented that we should be glad to have bathroom windows instead of fans. He said fans were like wind tunnels, sucking heat into the attic. We are required to have one or the other.

I am sorry that you didn’t enjoy your rooms and wish you had addressed any concerns with us directly. We would have told you that both of your rooms had brand new carpet, installed within the last seven months. As far as “shady” guests, I am not sure what you are referring to. It was a busy weekend with the Rt. 127 garage sale, a monster truck show at a local fairground and weddings. No one seemed shady. We are not a “residence” inn and we cater to guests who need a place to spend the night. We take pride in our country-like setting and many guests enjoy the ability to park in front of their room and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. When you booked the room, did you not notice that we are an authentic vintage motel from the 50’s era?

There are three things you could have done, Rhoda, that would have made your stay with us better. Number one, you could have taken note of the motel check in times and office hours which are clearly stated on the booking site. Number two, you could have read the message that is sent to each guest upon booking their room that instructs you to call us on the day of your arrival so that you can arrange an afterhours check in. At that time you would have been given your room number and the code for your door. And third, you could have listed your cell phone as the contact number on the booking site. Instead, you listed your home phone. We tried numerous times to call you on July 22, but you were not home. Had you listed your cell phone number, we could have reached you. Instead, you arrived two hours after we closed, apologizing the next morning for staying late at a reunion. It is not feasible for a small family owned motel to be open 24-7.
