"Always go for the deluxe rooms there are resident Waterbucks there and Hippos and crocodiles in the river and Elephants cross the river at night to feed in front of the rooms , the hotel sits just outside the Malelane gate an area famous for Leopards along the Crocodile river area the hotel has very good food and friendly staff "

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with one of the tours we booked, the places visited were great but the transport provided (given advertised as a luxury tour) was unacceptable, a rickety dirty taxi! The safari drives were great fun with brilliant guides, and we saw all of the big 5 within a few days - I would recommend that you go for the longer morning/day drives as this is where we saw the most! "When we arrived we had food in the sister lodge next door 2 mins walk away but it was stunning. Braai buffet style. Then had dinner and breakfast as Muluwa on our last night as it was reopened with new management. Absolutely perfect. Cannot fault it. We paid for a couple of the excursions. "We arrived just as it was about to start raining. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lunch in the River Cafe was quick and delicious and then we went for our Spa treatment. The heavens opened just as our treatment began, and it was so relaxing hearing the rain drop down on the canvas while we were having one of our best treatments ever. Our room was just as per the fotos, beautiful, with exceptional quality linen. We also spent some quality time in the bath overlooking the forest. ...

"This was the nicest property we stayed at during 3 weeks in SA. The only issue is the drive to the property is rough, making access to restaurants prohibitive. I recommend this property for isolation and relaxation."

"The location is wonderful with game regularly visiting the river from the Kruger opposite. When we arrived, about a dozen elephant were wading across and hippo were wallowing. The rooms each have their own private terraces where fires are lit each night, and open up into a lovely common area where birds and the 3 incumbent nyala are encouraged. "What can I say other than I would love to return year after year to this place. From the staff who greeted us to the ranger and tracker who accompanied us in open Land Rovers on our small group safaris, every single person gave us care, attention and made us feel so very welcome. We saw amazing wildlife (6 of the Magnificent Seven), and even did some exciting off-roading in pursuit of a glimpse of the rarely seen African wild dogs who were running in a pack. Honestly, I could have driven all day...

"We hired 2 chalets' no's 528 & 529. 528 was in good shape but 589 was not. The master bedroom carpets were dirty and the chalet needed painting. We paid for half board but found the food generally very poor. Breakfast was OK with eggs cooked while you waited, the sausages and bacon were good but there was little fresh fruit. The evening meal starters were poor, those which should have been hot were cold and the roast was generally overcooked. The facilities this resort offers are...
