Very beautiful building with interesting architecture. Friendly staff. Nice pools with outstanding water quality. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Short transfer to the airport. As a consequence sometimes perceptible aircraft noise.

Fabulous room, very tastefully appointed, with a huge bed and good size en-suite shower room. The staff are, without exception, friendly helpful and obliging. The architecture is unusual, attractive and interesting, with a little bit of a safari lodge feel to it. The villa is a little bit remote but there is easy access to local facilities via taxi, or Tuk Tuk. Our only slight disappointment was the limited range of choice from the menu available in the evenings and the portions were sometimes less than might be expected. In summary, a fabulous place to relax for a few days among quiet surroundings and you may be lucky to have some interesting wildlife visitors.

A fantastic home-from-home villa hotel with beautiful grounds, superb furnishings, wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for us and a breathtaking view out across the famous lagoon. We can't emphasise enough how truly superb the Villa and its staff were!

The property was a series of beautiful buildings centred around the owners main residence on Negombo Lagoon. The property was lovingly presented, the owners were very friendly and the staff were excellent. The food was just what we needed and we really enjoyed our stay, would definitely return and would highly recommend. An added bonus was being able to visit Thimble which was on site. It is a workshop where the women of the local fishing village are able to learn skills and produce hand crafted products. The goods they produced were top quality and a perfect souvenir of our time in Sri Lanka.

A great place for us to stay on our last night as a treat. The room we had was huge and the pools were great as were the staff. The only slight downside would be the location is a little isolated (some people will like that part) and the lagoon location of course means bring your mosquito spray.

This property is amazing.

I felt like I was staying with friends. The atmosphere is so relaxing. The staff go above and beyond to make you welcomed. We had some issues with our flights and the staff supported us with phone calls, changing flights, etc. They even gave us a room to leave our bags in and relax until it was time to go to the airport.

Simply magical

Our all-too-brief stay was simply magical at Villa Hundira. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. We booked the lagoon suite, as a way to round off our trip travelling around Sri Lanka. It was totally worth it. The villa itself is a treat for the eyes - little nooks to relax and read in, beautiful decor throughout, and complete peace wherever you go. The room was equally delightful - gorgeous interior design, a beautiful view of the lagoon and sunrise, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. We took an ayurvedic massage which was a great way to wind down after a trip full of constantly being on the move. Breakfast the next morning was delicious - go for the Sri Lankan option, you will not be disappointed! Also pay a visit to the Thimble workshop - great work being done to support fishermen's daughters. Special mention to Gayan who made the stay so wonderful. Thank you!

Le paradis sur terre !

En y mettant les pieds nous avons eu un coup de cœur. Tout est parfait. Les proprios ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour inoubliable. Nous avons même modifié notre itinéraire pour y retourner la veille de notre départ ! Veille du jour de l’an sur la plage avec un buffet succulent, bref, des hôtesses chaleureux, on se sent comme à la maison !

Paradise by the Lagoon

A wonderful stay. Villa Hundira is gorgeous. I found it to be aesthetically delightful and could immediately recognise the influence of Sri Lanka's great architect - Geoffrey Bawa. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The The service was top class. The staff were very friendly and 100% accommodating. I loved that there were no set meal times. The food was delicious and plentiful. From the vey beginning we were told to treat the place as our home and that there were no restricted areas. After one day it really did feel like home and we felt very much a part of a loving family. The owners, Rolf and Indira are special people who clearly enjoy spending some of their valuable time with guests. This place is full of surprises. I will definitely be going back to villa hundira. Only one warning. Bring along tropical strength mosquito repellant if you want to eat al fresco

Dream Property

Villa Hundira is a unique residence tucked away at the side of the lagoon in Negombo. Each room is individually furnished to a very high standard & artistically decorated. The twelve rooms are positioned around a complex of internal channels of water or by the one of two pools. It is quite ,peaceful & relaxing. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. Breakfast & dinner could be taken on one of the terraces or by the pool. Our stay here was an absolute delight after a busy two weeks exploring Sri Lanka

We found Villa Hundira to be so pleasantly different to other accommodation that it intrigued, comforted and pleased us. 午後にコロンボ空港に到着するフライトだったので、空港から近いNegomboのホテルを選ぶことにしました。部屋は広く、素敵なインテリアで統一されていました。朝食を部屋のテラスにセットしていただきました。美しい部屋、庭、建物で、スリランカ最初の宿泊の印象がとても良いものになりました。

Lovely home/hotel

Very nice art work and atmosphere. The family like to entertain, so their dinner parties got a bit noisy late into the night. PLEASE stop putting little plastic bottles at every place setting for every meal! Sri Lanka is sinking under the plastic rubbish...you have a water cooler so you can give customers water from that. Small plastic bottles are so deadly to the environment...one drink and then pollution for many many decades...
