The original port of Napier was located in the area of Ahuriri, just beyond the buildings visible on the right of this photo., and was known as the Iron Pot port. This port area has now been superseded by the Breakwater Port, and Ahuriri is home to mainly pleasure boats and inshore fishing vessels, and the old warehouses and stores are now home to restaurants, bars, cafe's, offices and apartments. It was very peaceful this morning standing watching the stars fade and the sun rise, and people arriving to take their boats out for the day. The constellation of Orion is visible in this photo in the centre of the sky.

Add vintage car parades, over 200 different events - it's a great weekend!

Lady at reception was lovely on arrival, room was clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed for a good nights rest and also the view from our balcony was spot on.

Great location. Clean with a friendly staff. Speedy checkin but we couldn’t get the AC to work. Nobody at the front desk to ask. Wasn’t a big deal except for opening the windows meant lots of traffic noice
