We stayed here one night for a weekend in Magome and the Nakasendo. All in all a nice business hotel with a courteous staff that spoke English, a bonus for the tourist. The room was clean, large by Japanese standards and even had a small refrigerator. The beds were firmer than I would like but then all Japanese beds are. (btw, the hotels booking page can be misleading - there are no king size beds at this hotel.) Excellent pillows for my dodgy neck, and the windows open for fresh air. The included breakfast buffet is large and varied - eggs, ham, scallops, noodles, salads and more - and justifies the high rate. The only downside is the location, a twice-the-minimum taxi ride from the train station and farther than you would want to walk. It is more convenient if you are driving as it is on a major road and has ample parking. There are restaurants and a market in the neighborhood, just not the quantity or selection that is near the station.
