Glorified private hostel room pretending to be a bed and breakfast.
The room was tiny and bathroom even smaller.
The breakfast was good.
But the value for money is not there. For the same price could have stayed at the hotel up the road.
Basic, comfortable place. Good breakfast. Only issue is limited check in period of 5pm to 8pm. We arrived at 8:30pm and had to look around for staff…took a while as it was dark out. No phone number in the welcome email either. Ended up having to walk over to the campground across the street to find someone to get us our key. Got worried that we’d end up sleeping in our car but got it sorted out eventually.
Room was small Had a hard time with the sulfur odor from the bathroom sink and shower Breakfast was simple and not quite as nice as other places we stayed
We stayed in one of the rooms, as versus the campgrounds or hostel. Very small but sufficient for our needs. Nice touch to have outdoor small table and chairs outside our door and looking into lava field. We had our laundry done as well. Breakfast good for anyone without special needs, but only place we encountered so far without alternative to cow milk, which left one of us without much to eat for breakfast. Location perfect for our wandering around the Lake and coastal areas.
Beware of this property! Coming from US and no one to check us in, only a local number that we weee to call when we arrived. Has to find a local and borrow their phone. Then to come find out the key was in the door of our hotel room and door unlocked.
There was a dirty used towel on the back doorknob of the bathroom door.
Private bath was a LIE! Toilet and sink only, very misleading. Sent the hotel a message but no response.
The B&B is simple and as others have commented the rooms are small, with all its challenges regarding ventilation etc. However, it was perfect for our needs. We were not planning to spend more time in the room than what is required for sleeping, and for that the room was perfect. Clean, comfortable beds, and great black outs. The experience was highly enhanced because the staff was very kind and helpful. And the breakfast was lovely, lots of option, good quality of food, and the views of the surrounding fields.
Very basic rooms. Very small rooms. No frills. No TV. No fridge. Tiny bathroom. Reception opens only at 5:00pm. Location is good. Breakfast is reasonable.

OK
Location is excellent. Staff is also friendly. However, it is too expensive for the quality of the facility. We hear all the sounds of the next room. I think this price is due to the fact that Myvatn area is very popular but few hotels.
Watch the season. We were there in August and there were a ton of what they call Midges (gnats in US). Don't bite but bad by the lake and this resort. Couldn't sit outside so bad. People wear head nets. You will have them in all areas around lake attractions. None at Myvatn Baths.
This was our second to last night on our trip. Not sure if the pix is accurate, but that is the check in place. The rooms are VERY small, and you MUST like an ammonia smell. The showers reek like you are getting a perm. The check in and check out are only for one hour in morning and one hour at night. NO EXCEPTIONS! Laundry service was expensive but available. The breakfast was typical. Avoid this place!
There was no one at reception when we arrived but we called ahead and were texted instructions. It was still confusing knowing where to go as there are several cottages and a building. Not mentioned when booking was that this is also a campsite with facilities for campers. Room was extremely small with bare necessities a bed and table. Room was very clean. We were given the impression it would be right on the lake side. Between us and the lake was the lava field, the main road and more lava field and no view of the lake. My next trip back to Iceland I will pass through and not stop at Myvatn as it doesn’t have much to offer.
The staff at this site has askedfor my room number at the breakfast, probably because we are the only Chinese couple. She hasn't checked anybody else in the room.
