Wonderful staff who helped when my elderly father was sick. We stayed in a large family room, watch feels like a mini apartment, ideal for a family of three or four.. This is our second stay here.. The staff remembered us fondly from last year..it is located in a quiet, beautiful part of Mumbai and the hotel itself is an historic building..Will certainly stay again next time my family is in Mumbai.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
This hotel is an old hotel that could use an update. With that being said it was quite comfortable to stay in. The room was clean and in a great location. The staff was very good and the young lady who was the concierge was exceptional. She helped set up a tour for us when our hired guide did not show.
The hotel is in a good location and has some history, but had no doubt seen better days. The bed was comfortable, although the room only offered a small, frosted window, v so I could only tell if it was day or night and one what the weather was like if I heard pouring rain. The staff are helpful and welcoming
Beautiful architecture with spacious and airy rooms in a great location. The room was very comfortable. The staff were very warm and welcoming and always helpful, extremely polite and ready to do anything they could to make our stay easy and comfortable. Centrally located, the neighbourhood is easy to walk around, very interesting and very accessible. A great place to stay!!
Very cute heritage building in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Staff is friendly and professional.
The gym needs a bit of care, and the room cleanliness could be better.

Liked: Cleanliness
Liked having the dining room for meals.
It seemed an area with other venues for meals.
It is a grand old hotel that has maintained its elegant design.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The only downside was that the air conditioning unit is quite old and produced a very moldy smell.
I had a wonderful experience during my stay in Mumbai, especially at a historic property located in the Fort area. Everything was great overall, but I was quite surprised to find that the hotel didn’t have any electricity backup—that's definitely something to consider.
Otherwise, everything was good. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
By the way, there’s one more thing I’ll share with you via email. Thanks!

Fort area
Located in the quieter Fort area but close enough to the tourist areas. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. AC slightly noisy and breakfast was a bit limited and rooms looking tired. Overall it was a good stay

An eccentrically beautiful building. It would benefit from a significant restoration to restore its full beauty and architectural interest. Rooms are sparsely furnished but comfortable and spacious. The staff is altogether gracious, friendly, and helpful.

Not "Grand" in Grand hotel
The hotel is not bad, but the rooms need renovation. The elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor and you have to walk up to the 4th floor with your luggage. The rooms are clean but they need a total change of everything inside. I wouldn't stay here again if I had another choice. The breakfast is monotonous - the same every day.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The Grand Hotel has something to do with history. Located in an area of Colaba, where on Saturdays and Sundays the kids are playing cricket and families are sleeping on the ground, it seems to be a lighthouse. All humans who are working in the Grand Hotel are truly kind, very helpfull and convinced that they are working together for us as their guests. Not everything is perfect - but being accommodated in such an environment - it was a pleasure to stay there. Long lives The Grand Hotel!
All in all, our stay was very good.
Not all the bed linen was completely clean on arrival, but it was replaced immediately. In general, the whole staff is very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast selection is small but sufficient.
Some renovation work is currently being carried out, but if, like us, you are out and about in the city during the day, you don't notice anything.
This place is average, which isn’t a bad thing, but I’d probably say it’s overpriced for what you get.
The location is great, and the “idea” of the property (a cool historic building in a cool historic area) is good, but the hotel itself is pretty rundown outside of the main lobby.
Would I stay here again? Yes, if it was less money.
I have stayed here twice now, it is a heritage hotel and in the Fort area which is where we like to be in Mumbai. The service is great, the rooms are mostly spacious and nicely decorated in period. The hotel only has a few rooms with king beds, the rest have single beds so if you book a king you will probably be disappointed when you get to the hotel. The air conditioners are old window mount units, the one in our room was like a jet engine, there is no way we could sleep with it on due to the noise and the controls did not work properly. The fridge we had to turn off due to the noise as well.
-In a quieter part of Mumbai, 10-15 walk to restaurants, a supermarket, the action. Safe but quiet at night.
-No decor on the walls or in my room, dull, no vibe.
-Asked front desk for metro directions to Dhobi Ghat. Given answer to take metro to X, then at X take a taxi to Dhobi Ghat. So I just took a 300 rupee taxi since it seemed I had to eventually take one anyway. Once there, I discovered the metro goes exactly to Dhobi Ghat. I took the metro back downtown, paying only 5 rupees.
- charged 70 rupees for room service aka “service charge.” Was told “it’s for the boys.” How presumptuous to tack on a tip. Then I was taxed on the delivered beer (ok ) but taxed on the “service charge” as well.
So tacky. Then when checking out, the next crew told me I had a bill for the above mentioned beer.
-Room was clean although a pillow was missing a pillow case, both nights. AC worked but then didn’t, ceiling fan was enough.
- asked for a taxi, non AC, to the airport at 5:00 am. Told the price was 900 rupees, really? A taxi without AC? Hours later. I apped Uber for the very first time, paying 741 rupees in a car with AC. Perhaps the high priced cab is not the fault of the hotel, but I should of been informed of other options as I’m certain 900 rupees would of seemed a high price to anyone familiar/living in Mumbai.
Breakfast was ok, only noticed a small sign the second morning stating cappuccinos, americanos, personal omelettes etc were available for the asking.
