Temperature in shower was very hard to set, either boiling hot or freezing cold. Location was good but driveway not cleared so drop off and pickup were hard.
Great position on mountain - meters from Bourke Street. Great access to get there via Taxi. Beds were really comfortable. Bar/restuarant all in house - no need to leave building at night. Drying room - very good. Coffee house out from - excellent!
Friendly staff, clean rooms and good food. The room was a bit small but you aren't in Buller to stay all day in a room so it has all you need to get a good nights sleep. Happy to stay again.

Very disappointed
found this hotel on the net and it was close to an event we were attending , so sounded good. First impressions were this look s like a shabby poorly maintained place, but after looking around they all resembled a state of disrepair. In fairness probably a condition of the elements. Being the only place to eat at mount Buller we ate at the hotel restaurant - wow-what a shock.This chef-Ha Ha Cook -needs to get a job at Maccas and learn some basics. Disgraceful , over priced, slow, poor quality, everything you fear in a restaurant, yes , they have it. We spoke to a few people around us as we were at a bike event and all seemed to be of the same opinion. $42.00 for a steak and three veg. The steak was on step up from minute steak as well. I ordered a ham and pineapple pizza that came out with tomoato on top. The waiter who I was later told was the manager said It will be faster if you just pulled the tomato off as they were busy. Let me tell you, the only reason they were busy is there is no where else to eat. Readers please note, if you are going there be prepared or organise alternative catering. I would hate to say I told you. Good luck.
Ski Club Victoria and Kandahar Lodge are typical ski-lodge type accommodation with small clean rooms, nice linen and clean premises. The kitchen, dining room and common areas are great, as is the BBQ area on the external veranda. This place has live-in caretakers and so its immaculately clean and well maintained. While the kitchen is incredibly well equipped making self catering a breeze, the restaurant and bar in the main building serves great meals if you dont want to cook. There is a coffee shop as well and its admirably prepared and drinkable (coming form a coffee snob, thats a fine reco)
Facilities: Good, Dated - but in good working order and comfortable; Value: Great deal; Service: Good, Friendly, Courteous; Cleanliness: Spotless;
We stayed for the opening of the season, and many of the staff were new and not familiar with the processes - but they were very friendly and helpful, and it was good value for money. Will definitely go back again.
