Splendid Hotel Lac d'Annecy - Handwritten Collection
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic location being walkable to restaurants, cafes, all the gorgeous sights and the train station. We stayed in a ‘Deluxe room, with lakeside terrace’ - the room was spacious with a comfy bed, good sized bathroom with toiletries and plenty of storage in the bathroom. We loved sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine in the late afternoon watching the world go by below. We had a coffee pod machine and non alcoholic mini bar stocked daily which was a great bonus. Another bonus was the filtered water dispenser on our floor (1st) I’m not sure if there was one on every floor. There was a Monoprix supermarket just around the corner which was handy for supplies. The only negative could be that it was a little noisy having a major road just outside the terrace. It didn’t bother us however this could be a problem if you’re a light sleeper. We would definitely stay here again."
"No a/c! I booked based on advertised air conditioning; however, I arrived to discover it’s not available in April! Even though it’s close to 80F! I think guests should be able to have a/c when it’s hot. Quite frustrating."
"Luxurious hotel with attentive staff in a wonderful location. Close enough to enjoy Annecy but far enough away to feel tranquil and relaxing. My only negative is that we weren’t given any information at check in and there are some hidden extras - for example breakfast is not included in the price and is €25 per person per day, we were not told this in advance and so the €150 on our room at the end of the stay was a bit of a shock. To park in the hotel car park is also extra although you can park for free on the road. "
"We loved the kitchenette in the room. It made it easy to make drinks and we used the microwave and fridge. The room was clean and convenient for a good night's sleep. The hotel was large but quiet. It is about 40 minutes walk from the centre which was okay but there are also buses from close to the hotel which makes it easier. For the price, a very good basic hotel with everything you need for a stay."
"Ideally located within a short walk of the train station, the hotel is clean with comfortable beds and spacious bath rooms. Also <5 minute walk to old town sites and 10 minute walk to the lake. Good breakfast offering included. Staff courteous at checkin/check out and helpful with questions about the neighborhood. Highly recommend."
