Top Motu Mahitu Hotel Reviews

Le Maitai Rangiroa
8/10 Good
"Staff was very helpful and friendly. Property was under renovation so there was a lot of construction noise. Free breakfast was nice, not a huge assortment but good. Our air conditioner was not working well but already had to move due to loud barking dog, so we made due. Once the sun set it was cooler. The view and snorkeling was great. Pool was very nice. They rent old rusty bikes if you want to ride around. There is a little convenience store right outside property that came in handy. Welcome was nice with shell lai and juice. Van ride from Airport was $15.00 each way. It was literally 3 min away from property. This is a budget friendly hotel. Overall we were happy with our stay and would consider renting one of the new bungalows when done. "

Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"What an incredible experience staying here! We split our time between two rooms, which we found out is quite common. We staying in the junior suite which was spacious and we loved the private pool/garden area. Then spent the last two days in the gorgeous overwater bungalows. Both rooms were beautiful and incredible. The food was some of the best we've ever had and the staff were very friendly and patient as we practiced our French. We will be back here for sure"

Rangiroa Tiputa Lodge B&B
10/10 Excellent
"If you are a diver, look no further. If you want to literally get away from it all and live in paradise for a few days, look no further. If you want to do both, then you definitely have to go to Tiputa Lodge. Henry is the owner and he has certainly found a very special part of the world. He’s a fellow scuba diver and is very knowledgeable about the area, let him set you up with Serge, a local dive operator, and you’ll dive some of the most amazing sites ever. We saw dolphins every single day at Tiputa pass. It was legendary. You can ride a bike for 5 min to meet serge at the dock, or Henry will drive you, but I much preferred to bike, made for a cooler experience. Tiputa pass is just a short 5 minutes from the dock. From the moment you leave the lodge, you’re basically in the water within 20 minutes. And after a couple dives, you have a completely private beach at the lodge to spend the rest of the day. Great snorkeling right from shore as well. Make sure to request the waffles for breakfast, they are seriously delicious. The other great thing about Tiputa is that 250 of the nicest people I’ve ever met live there, and that’s an understatement. Everybody waves, says hello (or bonjour), it’s literally a happy little island. Henry couldn’t be a better host too. Just go if you can, I’m hoping I get to return one day. "

Le Coconut Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely stay overall - beautiful small property. Attentive host, comfortable beds- do bring mosquito repellent. Would definitely stay again.
Food was the only disappointment. The set menu the night we had it was a 4oz piece of fish, buttered carrots, a tiny (2 bite) appetizer and a dessert dish that we both found unpalatable. No bread, no choices. My husband left the table still hungry. I would not book the optional dinner again."

Va'a i te Moana
8/10 Good
"A couple of nice bungalows near the ocean reef. Location to the main pier within bicycle distance for tours. Breakfast only option on site. General store nearby. A couple of lunch and dinner options nearby. Cynthia the hostess is energetic and accommodating. Fits the travel niche of the quiet retreat with WiFi. "
