Great location, close to several metro stations and easy to get around. Rooms and washrooms are clean and well maintained. Only concern was the heat, as I visited in the middle of summer and there was no air-conditioning. They provide fans and rooms are airy, but still quite hot.
It’s really good location, close to the metro and lots of food spots. The room was pretty well sized, lots of storage and such, and the staff were very nice! Good amount of elevators and stairs for an older building as well!
Spacious. clean room. Great location for exploring the city.

i’d only come here if you need a cheap place for a night or two. especially now in summer, there’s no AC so it’s extremely hot all the time, the beds are hard and i found the shared bathrooms to not be very kept up. overall it was a good enough place for a night. the staff was very kind and helpful.
great location, lots of restaurants and stores around, and with little walk next to rue st. Catherine for shopping. Stretch of a walk to via rail and other touristy spots but accessible with public transport. Room is basic and old but comfortable enough for a few days stay. Bathrooms are shared all genders so bit awkward to taking a bath or any of your bathroom activities. Staff are friendly. Great for short stays and solo travellers on a budget.
My only complaint is that is that I couldn't find it the first night. I was sent to an address like 2 blocks away. So frustrating. I was exhausted and it was getting dark so I found a chain motel (Choice Suites) which was very comfortable and expensive and I slipped it the bathtub, but luckily wasn't hurt bad. I got to Grey Nuns the next day and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I just didn't try the coffee vending machine, which is fair trade and supportive of women growers, as I just never found the time.
I was really happy with my stay here. Cleanness is the number one important thing to do me when I stay somewhere and I was impressed with how clean it was considering the budget price. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and the rooms, towels, and sheets all clean and fresh.
While it was a shared bathroom, I only ran into people a handful of times.
Location was great, walking distance to the subway that takes you any where downtown Montreal. Restaurants, shopping, bars all within walking distance.
No AC but this doesn't seem uncommon in Montreal. A big fan was in the room and it was good enough during the heatwave once you acclimate.
If I had to critique one thing it would be the shower curtains were a little bit dirty on the bottom and there wasn't anything to hang your towel or clothes in two of them. But for the price you pay, it's not a big deal. I would absolutely stay here again
Very easy check-in and check-out. I also felt very safe as there's a front desk, security, and turnstile gates that can only be cleared with an access card attached to your key. Very close to multiple train stations and very easy to get to and from the airport via Uber or the 747 stop a few blocks away.
I'll say, the comfort of the rooms could be better. No A/C in the rooms, so it got a bit stuffy, but I knew that going in. The toilet paper was paper thin, the ensuite shower is incredibly small that even as a 5'6 average built woman, it was very tight and hard to take a proper shower. And the pillow was incredibly flimsy and cheap. My neck hurt for the entirety of my stay.
It's also worth noting that there are no stairs, so given the size of the showers and the lack of stairs, I would advise against booking if you have a physical disability.
Overall, this was fine. You get what you pay for. Would book again for a one night stay max, but anything past one night, I'd go elsewhere.
