Metr and greet was non existent. Badly signposted, we couldn’t find the entrance or anybody to speak to for about 15 min. The restaurant was closed on Wednesday & that was the only day we have stayed there. The place is very remote so you can not walk anywhere for food. Been charged for the room again even though already paid. The lady was very nice but overall experience wasn’t great.

When we arrived we were disappointed as we were told the pool was not open as it was seasonal , yet the next morning as we were leaving there were people swimming in it! The grounds were unkempt and the grass around the pool looked like it had not been cut for over a month … a far stretch from the “ sell” of an immaculate property on Expedias website . We had a room over looking the pool and after retiring to bed were woken up at 23.00 hrs by someone washing up below us and crashing plates and cutlery around until 00.40 . We went downstairs and asked them to politely stop as they were keeping us awake , but they carried on regardless , so we had a dreadful night sleep. We were travelling through France as part of an extended trip so we had a lot of other hotels to compare with and certainly will not be returning at the extortionate prices charged here.

Great and unique place

Great rooms, nice breakfast, very helpful and friendly hosts and big outdoor saltwater pool. The place is stunning with so much wonderful design and interior. Close to Auxerre and Chablis. The chateau is a great place to explore all the wineries in Chablis. We will come back again.

The place is very secluded and beautifully kept. We received a warm welcome from Johann who had put extra thought into making our stay wonderful. Every request was accommodated and done so with a smile. I highly recommend this place!

What a magical place! By far our best stay in France! What do you get when you mix a beautifully restored chateau, 5 star accomodation, an incredible art collection, super cool decorations and a very cool host? Chateau de la Resle! We absolutely loved our stay here. To add to the experience the breakfast is delicious, morning walks around the property were a highlight and the time we spent by the beautiful pool in the sun drinking wine topped it all off. Thanks Johan for making our trip. We will be back for my 40th!

A modern hotel in a French country château

The Château de la Resle is a beautiful country residence in the French countryside that has been fully - and most tastefully - renovated. It offers an ideal base to disciver the surrounding area. Its Dutch owners run the place with care and make every effort to serve their clients. The hotel is very quiet. Parking is no problem.
