"Tracy was very friendly and gave information about the town and the property. Check in and check out was seamless. Loved the property and the cabana and wished we had stayed longer. Totally recommend it. "

"We had a wonderful, wholesome stay. The cabin was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is simple but well-equipped with essentials, and there’s a supermarket a short drive away. The town is less than 15 minutes by car, making it easy to stock up on anything you need. A car is recommended.

"I don’t recommend this hotel. Our room had zero ventilation so it got very hot and stuffy at night. There was no fan or ac so it was hard to sleep. There was zero housekeeping and when I needed items like toilet paper or a towel I had to find someone at the front desk - most of the time staff was no where to be found and the front desk was unattended. The hot water in the shower cut off halfway through my shower twice. The most upsetting thing was that we booked this hotel based on the fact it...

"We left after only one night because the bugs in the room were so bad we got eaten alive. Holes in the screens allowed large beetles into the room and the biting insects were so bad I couldn’t read on my tablet because it attracted the biting insects and my hands the next day were swollen with insect bites. No mosquito nets or fans were in the room to help so we suffered all night and were horribly bit up by the morning.
In addition the room door did not stay adequately closed and we had to lodge a sunscreen tube into the crack to stop it from banging all night long.
The towels and blankets were frayed and dingy, making me think some of our bites were bed bugs. we did not use the shower because it was so filthy.
When we approached the owner about the bugs he was beyond rude, attempted to gaslight us into making it our problem and we received no refund for the additional days we couldn’t stay there.
The bad food, and hard beds are hardly worth mentioning compared to the rest of the unpleasantness that was our experience here.
I have traveled the world and this was by far my worst hotel experience. "
"We had an INCREDIBLE experience here. No complaints whatsoever. Close to all the attractions, absolutely beautiful grounds, and family like service. Do yourself a favor and make this your home while in La Fortuna. "
"I read so many reviews when planning our first trip to Costa Rica and so I hope this review helps someone!
We were a couple and two teenage girls and we stayed two nights. We felt extremely safe. We met the owner, Suzzana, multiple times and she is not only kind, but an excellent listener. All the staff seem hand picked for their exceptionalism. I wish I could name each one here, as they often greeted me by name each day. Our room and bathroom were pristine and the grounds… oh the grounds! So beautiful with winding pathways and a lot of places around to sit and relax. Hammocks and chairs out by the beach, which was Zero waves, very calm and warm. We did the tour they offer and we left and returned from the hotel beach- how convienant is that? We did the excursion which was a boat ride, lunch, Isla tortuga, snorkel and also seeing the bioluminescence, which may be a highlight experience of my life. The lunch was so good that we asked them to make the same food and had it to go the next day when we needed to drive back to San Jose.
Comfortable beds, hot shower water, beautiful and peaceful. The pool was also a highlight for us. We were in there each day.
I’m trying to think if I have anything I didn’t like and I would say, if you have many food allergies they do try but this might not be the best spot for you. Also I did end up using my own shampoo/conditioner since they have only an all-in-one s/c/body wash. The a/c worked great. I sincerely hope we get to return! Thank you!"
"Absolutely wonderful place with all the amenities an older adult needs! Very responsive and polite despite all our...figure it out as you go...errors. They made booking easy, tips were included in the food bill, gardens were amazing and grounds keepers were always busy!!! Would love to come again. "
